The Lake Show is taking its act to Philadelphia, where a surging Ben Simmons is taking the lead while Joel Embiid (hand) is out. Can the Lakers hand the Sixers a rare defeat at home?

HOME TEAM: Philadelphia 76ers (29-17, 20-2 at home)

The Sixers are snapped a four-game winning streak on Friday after a 107-95 loss to the Toronto Raptors. They will be back home tomorrow, though, and it’s where they are almost unbeatable and one of the best this season, with or without Embiid. Philly has won six-straight at Wells Fargo Center.

Ben Simmons had his run slowed down by the defending champs but his confidence and aggression is still at a high. In what could arguably the best stretch of his career, he’s averaging 22.7 points, 10 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 2 steals per game on 66.3%-shooting over his last six games. The incoming match-up with LeBron James should be pretty interesting.

Tobias Harris (19.3 PPG) will be helping Simmons out and the two are acting as the Sixers’ one-two punch for the time being, especially since Josh Richardson (hamstring) is also due to miss 2-3 weeks.

ROAD TEAM: Los Angeles Lakers (35-9, 20-4 on the road)

The Los Angeles Lakers moved to 3-1 in their five-game road trip following a 128-113 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. LeBron James once again guided the team as he notched his 10th triple-double of the season.

James is sure to go toe-to-toe with Ben Simmons in filling up the stat sheet. He’s putting up 25.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and a league-leading 10.8 assists per game. Anthony Davis, meanwhile, is still taking it easy on his recently healed back and has only played 26.5 minutes per game since his return (three games), averaging 17.7 points, 6.7 boards, and 1.7 blocks.

Even with the non-stop trade talks, we can expect Kyle Kuzma (15.5 PPG in his last three) to be the third scorer on the Lakers. It will be interesting to see him match-up with the Sixers’ forwards, particularly against the similarly long-armed Harris.

PREDICTION:

The Lakers start to feed Davis often again and he leads the guys to a hard-fought 110-106 win. They’ll still have to get solid performances from James and Kuzma, though, because the Sixers are a different animal whenever they’re at home.
