The surging New Orleans Pelicans visit the Houston Rockets with hopes of ending the season series with a 2-2 tie. The match-ups have been filled with offense as the winner of all the three past meetings have scored 120-plus points.

HOME TEAM: Houston Rockets (32-18, 16-7 at home)

The Rockets have been a complete wildcard for the past couple of weeks, but they are coming off a 128-121 win over the Dallas Mavericks, and that means tomorrow’s another good chance to gain momentum.

James Harden led the way by scoring a team-high 35 points on 10-for-25 shooting (40%). The percentage was mediocre to say the least but it was better than what he’s been tallying lately. He’s also in rhythm to produce tomorrow as he’s averaging 34 PPG in the two games against the Pelicans.

Russelle Westbrook is playing like the team’s MVP right now (33.8 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 8.6 APG, 53.1 FG% in his last 10) and he should be able to play such tomorrow. He’ll be in an interesting battle with Jrue Holiday and the Pelican guards.

Houston is scoring 122 points and 16.7 threes per game against New Orleans this season.

ROAD TEAM: New Orleans Pelicans (20-29, 10-14 on the road)

The Pelicans are continuing to gain steam, particularly in the last five weeks. They are riding a three-game winning streak and have also won 13 of their last 19 games, where they are putting up 120.5 PPG.

There’s a long list of exciting players to watch out for in the Pelicans’ side, and they just added another one this past week as Zion Williamson finally made his debut following a knee injury. The 2019 first overall pick now has five games under his belt and he’s compiling 19.2 points and 7.8 rebounds on 62.5%-shooting. He still has a minutes restriction and only plays 25 MPG.

Jrue Holiday (20 PPG, 6.4 APG, 1.8 SPG) and Brandon Ingram (24.9 PPG), as you know, headline the main weapons of the Pels. The latter earned a spot for the All-Star game later this month and he has also established himself as one of the best young scorers in the league, so much so that he’s good enough to go toe-to-toe in scoring against Harden or Westbrook.

PREDICTION:

Prepare for a high-scoring affair. These two teams play fast and we should see a handful of 20-point scorers on each side.

The Rockets win the offensive showdown, 125-120.
