These two have met thrice this season, and all three times, the Philadelphia 76ers came away with a victory. Will we see the same tomorrow?

HOME TEAM: Boston Celtics (32-15, 19-5 at home)

The Celtics are winners in five of their last six games, easily the best stretch they’ve had all season heading into a match-up with the Sixers. They are also plus 13 on points against opponents in that span (117.4 PPG to 104.7 PAPG).

Jayson Tatum got his first All-Star nod just yesterday, which should be good for his confidence considering he’s only netting 17 points on an awful 32.1%-shooting within the season series with Philly. Also, despite that, the 21-year-old is currently averaging 21.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.4 threes per game on the season, all of which are career-bests.

Boston’s leading scorer, Kemba Walker (22 PPG), is having identical scoring numbers for the season and the season series, so expect him to do the same. Jaylen Brown, the third scorer, is a different story as he is yet to crack double figures versus the Sixers (20.1 PPG on the season, 7.3 PPG against PHI).

Gordon Hayward could be there to contribute nicely. He’s tallying 24.8 points on 55.3%-shooting in his last four games.

ROAD TEAM: Philadelphia 76ers (31-18, 9-16 on the road)

The Sixers got their hot run derailed again, and it was from an unlikely source. They lost to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, 127-117, who are tied for the worst record in the Eastern Conference – and that was on top of Joel Embiid being back in the line-up.

Still, there’s a couple of things that’s going well for the Sixers. Along with being 5-2 in their last seven games is the control they seemingly have whenever against the Celtics. Embiid was a force in his last meeting with the Cs, pouring in 38 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. He’s pacing Philly in scoring and rebounding for the season series at 26.5 points and 13 boards per game.

The big man’s co-All-Star, Ben Simmons, is also continuing to raise his numbers. The Aussie floor general put up 22.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 2.3 assists per game on an impressive 62.6%-shooting in January.

Then, there’s also Tobias Harris, the long-armed, inside-out threat that posts 18 points and 10 rebounds in the season series, and Josh Richardson, who’s averaging 20 points in three meetings with the Celtics this season.

PREDICTION:

We should see the most tightly battled game between the two all season, as both are holding good momentum. I expect the Celtics to finally score a win on the Sixers, 109-103.
