The Mavericks’ red-hot offense play host to Damian Lillard and the Blazers, and they will look to even the season series.

HOME TEAM: Dallas Mavericks (26-15, 12-10 at home)

The Dallas Mavericks are establishing some momentum as they have now won three-straight games. The offense is also on a roll as it has averaged 125.5 PPG and shot 51.1% in the last two games.

The great rhythm should be a good boost for tomorrow. They are trying to get a win back from the Portland, who edged them out in a tight contest during the previous meeting, 121-119. Dallas only shot 39.4% from the floor.

Luka Doncic had his usual stats (29 pts, 12 rebs, 9 asst) but he only went 8-for-22 (2-for-11 from three) and had four turnovers. Kristaps Porzingis (32 pts) was the lone bright spot for the Mavs that night and he’s currently out with a knee injury.

We should see Doncic be aggressive in trying to have a better performance, with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Seth Curry backing him up in the scoring.

ROAD TEAM: Portland Trail Blazers (18-24, 9-14 on the road)

The Blazers are looking to remain on the winning column. The team has won back-to-back, with the most recent being a 117-107 victory over the Houston Rockets. The defense stepped up nicely and held James Harden to 13 points on 3-for-12 shooting.

The win against the Mavericks earlier in the season saw all three Blazer starters reach double figures and the team collectively shooting over 51%. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, as always, led the way, as the two combined for 63 points.

Lillard and McCollum will continue being the hot-shooting, high-scoring backcourt, and now they will have Carmelo Anthony, who’s been reliable as the third scorer. Melo is chipping in 16.3 PPG on the season. Portland’s defensive anchor, Hassan Whiteside, should be able to contribute as well. The big man is posting 16.3 points, 16.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game in his last six outings.

PREDICTION:

Lillard and Doncic could go toe-to-toe on this one, and it’ll be pretty interesting. With the Blazers’ rocky campaign, though, expect the Mavs to take tomorrow’s match-up, 116-110, and even the season series.
