Scrimmage Game #1:
Philadelphia 76ers 90 | Memphis Grizzlies 83

The Philadelphia 76ers used a hot first half to keep the Memphis Grizzlies in a tough chase all game long. They jumped into a 12-point first quarter lead and kept pounding in the ensuing period to go into halftime with a commanding 55-28 cushion.

Even with a strong, 34-18 third quarter, the Grizzlies were unable to climb out of the deep hole they were in.

Joel Embiid struggled in 13 minutes of play and went just 3-for-10 from the floor, two which were blocked. Fortunately, Tobias Harris was able to provide a lift as he recorded a double–double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The most notable highlight of the contest came from Ben Simmons. Along with posting his usual all-around stat line (9 pts, 7 rebs, 9 ast), he gave critics a nice little clapback by hitting a corner three-pointer – he didn’t hesitate too.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, were led by Jonas Valanciunas. He powered through for 20 points and 11 boards. Kyle Anderson (14), Jaren Jackson Jr. (13), and rookie Brandon Clarke (11) all scored in double figures as well.

Ja Morant didn’t have a good day. The top Rookie of the Year candidate tallied seven points, five rebounds, and eight assists but missed nine of this 12 attempts.

Scrimmage Game #2:
Oklahoma City Thunder 98 | Boston Celtics 84

It was a one-sided battle that was fully controlled by the eventual victor from beginning to end. The Oklahoma City Thunder simply had everything in their hands.

OKC won all quarters, shot 52.1% from the floor (the highest among any team in the scrimmage), outrebounded the Celtics by 10, and held them to just 20.8% shooting from three (5-for-21).

Chris Paul was quiet in 18 minutes of action (2 pts, 5 ast), but Steven Adams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander made up for it by having 17 points apiece. Abdel Nader came off the bench to add 11.

Another highlight for the Thunder is the return of defensive ace, Andre Roberson. The 28-year-old injured his knee on January 28, 2018 and was unable to play until today. His absence reached 909 days as he also endured a handful of setbacks during his recovery.

Boston’s balanced attack, which saw 13 different Celtics score, led to nowhere as the team was unable contain OKC’s offense. Kemba Walker’s absence, who’s still sidelined with an injury, played a part in the loss as well.

Enes Kanter paced the Celtics production with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The two Jays – Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown – combined for just 12 points on 4-for-12 shooting. Gordon Hayward had seven points in 16 minutes.

Scrimmage Game #3:
Toronto Raptors 94 | Houston Rockets 83

The Houston Rockets came in with their standard, guns blazing offense, but the defending champions were poised and eventually came back to earn a victory.

It had a good back-and-forth until the fourth quarter, when Houston kept James Harden and Russell Westbrook on the bench and the Raptors decided it was time to pull away. They outscored the Rockets, 22-10, and held them to just two field goals in the first eight minutes of the period.

Harden had 24 points and 10 assists in 25 minutes, Russ scored 10 and grabbed nine boards in just 15 minutes, while Danuel House chipped in 18 points off the bench.

The Raptors, meanwhile, again showed that they have an offense where everybody eats. Five scored in double-digits and the team combined for 25 assists.

Serge Ibaka had a team-high 18 points on 8-for-10 shooting, and All-Stars Pascal Siakam (13 pts) and Kyle Lowry (11 pts, 4 ast) also played well for the starting unit. Over on the second unit, Norman Powell (12 pts, 3 stls) and Terrence Davis (15 pts) carried the load.
