While some bigshot names are playing in Group A, Group B is also full of talent. There are some closer odds compared to the other group, and this group looks to be more promising group to watch.

JD Gaming vs. Gen.G

JD Gaming was the sleeper powerhouse of the LPL regular season, taking 2nd place behind IG. When it was time for the playoffs, they dominated, only losing two games to Top Esports in the finals and beating reigning World Champions FunPlus Phoenix 3-0 – humiliating them into the Third Place match.

Gen.G is home to the most mechanical and aggressive Koreans, especially with Bdd and Clid in the mid lane and jungle respectively. They were first in the regular season with a staggering 14-4 series score, but lost 1st place in the playoffs to T1 with a disappointing 0-3 performance in the finals.

Some matchups to look out for are Kanavi versus Clid and the bottom lane matchups in LokeN and LvMao versus Ruler and Life. In the recently concluded LPL Spring Playoffs, LvMao solely turned the tides on Game 4 and Game 5 with his clutch support plays.

Prediction:

The odds are in favor of JD Gaming, and given their outstanding record in the Spring Split, it’s easy to see why. I’m strongly confident in a JDG win this round.

DragonX vs. Invictus Gaming

DragonX has been a consistent third placer in the KeSPA Cup 2019 as well as in the Spring Split. Their team play and current roster is solid, and they have a veteran by the name of Deft, who played for Samsung Blue in Season 4.

Ever since the Spring Playoffs unfolded, IG hasn’t been in top shape against their fellow Chinese teams. Just like FunPlus Phoenix, that doesn’t mean they will be any lesser against other regions. This team’s roster still has the powerhouses like top laner theShy and veteran Rookie.

Prediction:

The odds are really close, but IG has a pretty good chance of taking this home. If they can get the right tempo and come back from the Spring Playoffs loss, this will surely be IG’s time to prove it to the world.

DragonX vs. Gen.G

During the LCK Spring Season, these two teams butted heads twice. In Week 3, Gen.G barely won with a 2-1 score, and then DragonX ran it back with a clean 2-0. It’s possible to say these teams are closely matched in skill.

In the LCK Spring Playoffs, DragonX had to scrape their wins against DAMWON Gaming only to be beaten by T1 in their usual 3-1 fashion. On the other hand, Gen.G simply had to wait at the Finals due to their first place status in regular season. Embarrassingly, T1 made sure they wouldn’t taste a win during that series.

Despite their losses, given their standings as they went into the playoffs, Gen.G is looking to be the better team and will be more than prepared to take on DragonX without a sweat.

Prediction:

Gen.G has shown better odds due to their overall standing, while DragonX had to work hard late in the split to prove their worth. Therefore, Gen.G is looking good to swipe this win.

JD Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming

Looking upon the history of these two teams, Invictus Gaming had significantly more wins than JD Gaming. The tides have turned as JDG stormed the LPL and went 2-0 in Week 6 of the LPL.

In their home turf, IG had a disappointing run. As a team who took the Summoner’s Cup in 2018, and a top laner who revolutionized Kalista Top, they haven’t been doing too well against the others. Embarrassingly, they were defeated 0-3 by FunPlus Phoenix during the battle for third place.

JDG is at the top of their game lately ever since Zoom came out of quarantine status, leading the charge for a massive win streak in the LPL. With a 3-0 against the reigning champion FPX, what more could happen if they actually matched against iG now?

Regardless of the results, a matchup between Zoom versus theShy in the top lane will be a spectacle that should be looked out for.

Prediction:

Comparing the odds, it’s clear that JDG is the favored team in this matchup. JDG has superior team play, proven by their dominance in the spring split, and if that trend continues, this win will surely be for them.

Invictus Gaming vs. Gen.G

Invictus Gaming and Gen.G actually share some similarities with each other. They have highly technical players that employ an aggressive playstyle.

The main difference, however, is that iG has experienced multiple World Championships and consistently placed high in the ranks, while Gen.G’s last Worlds was at 2018, and they sat at top 16 then.

Now, Gen.G’s roster has been packing quite the punch due to Bdd and Clid in the starting roster. Their track record in 2020 has been pretty strong just like iG, even with the embarrassing 0-3 in their deciding series.

The jungle matchup between these teams could be spicy. Clid played for SK Telecom (now T1) for two whole years; while IG’s newer jungler Leyan was fresh from the academy roster last year.

Prediction:

The odds this time are actually closer than anticipated. If one considers the individual skill of these players, Gen.G’s Bdd and Clid can easily transition their leads into a win due to their positions’ reach across the map, compared to theShy isolated in the top lane.

I believe Gen.G will definitely claim this win.

DragonX vs. JD Gaming

DragonX is one of Korea’s most aspiring underdogs. With Deft, a seasoned LCK veteran, this newly formed roster from promoted trainees Pyosik and Keria combined with Griffin former members Doran and Chovy, they are looking strong enough to belong in Korea’s top 4.

That’s not to say JD Gaming has no power in their new roster too. Their roster has proved its supreme power with the inclusion of LokeN in Spring 2020. If you’ve followed the LPL Playoffs, this bot carry with LvMao as the support has been making rounds in JDG’s clutch wins.

Thus, it will be an honor to watch a battle between Deft versus LokeN, as well as their supports Keria and LvMao. Kanavi versus Pyosik will be interesting as well.

Prediction:

The odds are highly stacked in favor of JDG. Even though DragonX is an aspiring team, the hurdle they have to face are multitudes higher than Korea’s T1.

If DragonX cannot prepare themselves enough, JDG is looking to snag this easy win for the last game of Group B.
