The Golden State Warriors are still in the race for the postseason thanks to a 14-14 record, but their road woes have been a constant thorn on their side this season. They have completely opposite road (2-12) and home (12-2) records and the difference in performance is stark.

In their only two road wins, the Warriors needed Thompson’s 41 points and Curry’s 33 to beat the bottom-dwelling Houston Rockets and a combined 70 from Thompson, Poole and Curry to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, their deadly scoring trio can’t seem to find the same kind of consistency that they do at home.

It’s worth noting that there are outlier games like the one against New Orleans, where the Warriors sat all of their players on the way to a 128-83 defeat, but their key rotation players have all played in at least 10 of their 14 away games so far.

With the Western Conference being such a tight race this year, the Warriors’ road troubles need to be answered soon, or they truly stand a chance of not even making the playoffs. While they sit in tenth place at the moment, if they had even won half of their away games (like the New Orleans Pelicans), they’d be the ones standing at the top of the heap. Just a year ago, the Warriors sat with a 22-5 record at this exact point of the season. If they hope to win their fifth title with Curry, they need to right the ship.
