Out for revenge or out for another tough night?

The 13-3, Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks have a lot going for them. They are riding a seven-game winning streak, have the reigning MVP in Giannis Antetokounmpo, and own one of the best offenses and defenses in the league. It’s an embarrassment of riches.

All that means nothing against the Utah Jazz, though, as they struggled in the meeting earlier in the month and lost, 103-100, in what was their lowest scoring output of the season. The score didn’t indicate how hard the Bucks fell in to an early hole.

What stood out in that defeat was the almost non-existent help from the role players, who collectively shot 25.8% from the floor (8-for-31).

Giannis and the other key guys, Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton, who’s currently out with a leg injury, all relatively played well.  Giannis virtually matched his season averages by having 30-plus points and 10-plus rebounds, while the other two both notched 20-plus points.

Jazzing it up

The 11-5 Jazz are on a run of their own. They are winners in each of their last three games and seven of their last eight, which included that aforementioned first match-up with the Bucks.

Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert

Donovan Mitchell (25.9 PPG) and Rudy Gobert (13.3 PPG, 14.1 RPG, 2.1 BPG) will remain as the key Jazz players to lookout for, but the Bucks are sure to keep an eye on Bojan Bogdanovic as well.

Bojan Bogdanovic

Bogdanovic, one of the most underrated off-season acquisitions this year, starred for Utah in that win. He registered a game-high 33 points and buried the buzzer-beating three-pointer that gave the Jazz their most exciting victory of the season.

Once considered a journeyman, Bogdanovic may have finally found a home with the Jazz. Unlike his past two solid seasons with the Indiana Pacers, where his stats were deemed to be inflated because of a thin lineup, his current production with the Jazz is now more respected. He’s steadily proving his place among one of the West’s strong contenders, and has been posting a career-best 20.7 points per game.
