The visiting Celtics aren’t looking good. They have lost back-to-back games and are still winless against the Sixers this season.

HOME TEAM: Philadelphia 76ers (24-14, 17-2 at home)

The Philadelphia 76ers snapped a four-game losing streak on Tuesday following a 120-113 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. All five starters scored in double figures, and all but one also shot 50% or better.

Up 2-0 in the season series against the Boston Celtics, the Sixers should be feeling quite confident for tomorrow. The first win was the dominating 107-93 win in the season-opener and the second was a 115-109 road victory in Boston, which marked as the Celtics’ first home loss on the year.

Joel Embiid (23.4 PPG, 12.3 RPG) should be eyeing for another big performance. He was unstoppable in that previous win versus the Celtics, pouring in 38 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists.

Ben Simmons (14.9 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 8.6 APG) and Tobias Harris (19.4 PPG) will be primary threats as well. Both have scored 20-plus against Boston this season.

ROAD TEAM: Boston Celtics (25-10, 11-7 on the road)

The Celtics are dealing with back-to-back losses. After getting upset by the lowly Washington Wizards, they then got clobbered by the San Antonio Spurs at home on Thursday, 129-114.

Adding to that shakiness is their pair of defeats from the Sixers, one of which was despite a decent enough performance – the team shot 46.2%, had five players in double-digit points, and only committed six turnovers. Jayson Tatum’s 29 points led the way while Enes Kanter provided energy off the bench by adding 20.

Leading scorer Kemba Walker, meanwhile, ought to keep his head straight. He got tossed in their loss to the Spurs after two technical fouls. Also, though averaging 20.5 points against Philly this season, he has only shot a woeful 30.8% from the floor.

Jaylen Brown is also in the hot seat to finally solve his Sixers struggles. In two match-ups with the Sixers, he’s a combined 6-for-15 for 16 points.

PREDICTION:

Look for Embiid to be stay motivated against the Celtics, but I also expect Brown and Walker (if he doesn’t get suspended by the league) to finally have that strong performance against one of their intense East rivals.

Ultimately, the Sixers are a good pick despite the recent slump because they have maintained their great control whenever at home. They get the win, 112-106.
