Away: Orlando Magic (2-6, 2-2 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jase Richardson
  • Anthony Black
  • Desmond Bane
  • Franz Wagner
  • Wendell Carter Jr.

The Magic haven’t been weaving wins of late, and they will try to find that spark again this weekend, as Orlando continues its Western swing.

Orlando is coming off a 117-104 loss on Friday against Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns to begin the Magic’s four-game road trip.

Despite the loss, the Magic can feel encouraged by what they saw in Wendell Carter Jr. in that game, with the former Duke star dropping 27 points on 10/12 shooting while adding 13 rebounds. Orlando needs players to step up amid the absences of Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Isaac, and that will especially be needed by the team in this upcoming showdown against a red-hot Warriors side.

The Magic, who are averaging 105.5 points per game, are 2-2 against the spread in four road games so far this season.

Home: Golden State Warriors (6-3, 4-1 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Stephen Curry
  • Brandin Podziemski
  • Yaxel Lendeborg
  • Gui Santos (DTD)
  • Draymond Green (DTD)

The Warriors are also banged up, but unlike Orlando, Golden State’s magic is working.

The Dubs are operating without Kristaps Porzingis, Moses Moody, Jimmy Butler and Gui Santos, and yet are on a six-game winning streak. They started the season losing three games in a row, but have seemingly figured it out early. Golden State already has big wins over the likes of the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers.

In their most recent outing, the Warriors took Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat to the woodshed in a 120-100 win at home on Friday. Golden State’s offense is still one of the best in the league with a 117.0 offensive rating and a 59.9 TS%.

The Warriors are also letting their backers enjoy success too, as Golden State is 7-2 against the spread this season overall.
