The visiting Boston Celtics should be an easy call against the consistently inconsistent Orlando Magic… except they have lost three-straight games on the road.

HOME TEAM: Orlando Magic (21-24, 13-9 at home)

The Orlando Magic have lost three of their last four games. On Thursday, with their offense scoring more than usual, their first-ranked defense (104.3 PAPG) got smoked by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who shot 60.5% from the floor and edged them out, 120-114.

Saturday will be a new chance for the league-leading defense. Similar to what they’ve done all season, look for the Magic to slow down the pace and limit the Boston Celtics’ possessions, which is a perfect foil to the Celts’ up-tempo attack.

On offense, the scattered scoring will still be led by Nikola Vucevic (19 PPG, 11.1 RPG) and Evan Fournier (18.9 PPG). Hopefully, though, Aaron Gordon (13.4 PPG) can somehow rise from his down year as he will be up against Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward. Keep an eye on Markelle Fultz as well. He’s been thriving as of late, (15.3 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 5.4 APG in his last nine games), which includes a 21-10-11 triple-double on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers.

ROAD TEAM: Boston Celtics (29-14, 11-9 on the road)

The Boston Celtics have notched back-to-back dominating wins. They are on the heels of plowing through the Los Angeles Lakers by 32 points and then providing a follow-up via 24-point rout of the Memphis Grizzlies. Both are good confidence-builders for Saturday’s challenge of snapping a three-game losing streak on the road.

Jaylen Brown has missed three of the last four games due to a right ankle sprain and he’s listed as “questionable” for the contest. Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum will assume more offensive workload should Brown continue to miss time, especially Tatum, who’s posting 25.3 points on 51.8%-shooting over his last three games.

Walker (21.7 PPG) sat out two games this week due to knee soreness and has played under 30 minutes in his last two outings thanks to the blowout wins. He should be able to return to his high-volume scoring style anytime.

Gordon Hayward has a good opportunity to produce as well. He’s netting 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game this week.

PREDICTION:

Walker and Tatum engage in an intense battle with the defense and lead the Celtics to a 108-102 win. The Magic will put on a good showing but ultimately fall short from matching Boston’s firepower on offense.
