Away: Oklahoma City Thunder (13-4/5-2Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
  • Luguentz Dort
  • Aaron Wiggins
  • Jalen Williams
  • Isaiah Hartenstein

The Thunder appear to be weathering the absence of Chet Holmgren just fine. Since Holmgren started missing games due to a hip fracture, the Bolts have gone 5-2 straight up. They also got a nice boost with big man Isaiah Hartenstein finally active. Hartenstein has looked like a great fit in Oklahoma City based on a small sample size, thus far.

The Thunder are 2-0 SU with Hartenstein, including their 130-109 road win against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. The 26-year-old Hartenstein scored 32 points and grabbed 23 rebounds with four blocks in the last two OKC games.

He was not around when OKC lost to Golden State at home earlier this month, 127-116, so he could be a surprise factor for the Thunder in the rematch. Holmgren suffered the injury just five minutes into that meeting with Golden State, and that threw off the Thunder. This time around, OKC can be expected to play with more fluidity, having been used to playing without Holmgren.

Home: Golden State Warriors (2-5/5-2 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Stephen Curry (Questionable)
  • Lindy Waters III
  • Andrew Wiggins
  • Draymond Green
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis

Golden State is moving in a different direction in the standings compared to the Thunder. The Warriors enter their Thursday game against OKC on a two-game losing skid, as they lost to the San Antonio Spurs (104-94) last Sunday and to the Brooklyn Nets (128-120) at home on Tuesday.

Golden State simply got outgunned by Brooklyn despite the Warriors taking 10 more field goal attempts. That defense will have to tighten up for Golden State this Thursday against an OKC squad that’s 11th in the league with 115.2 points per game. Conversely, the Warriors are seventh in the NBA with 109.9 points allowed per game.

They held OKC to just 44.7 FG% in the first meeting where Stephen Curry’s 36 points led the Warriors. However, the two-time league MVP is questionable with a knee issue. His status should be monitored closely heading into the game. Jonathan Kuminga is also questionable with an illness. He had 20 points off the bench in the win over OKC.
