The Los Angeles Lakers are visiting downtown Brooklyn tomorrow, but a LeBron James-Kyrie Irving face-off is possibly out of the table.

HOME TEAM: Brooklyn Nets (18-24, 11-11 at home)

The Brooklyn Nets continued to sink on Tuesday as they lost at home to the Philadelphia 76ers, one of the worst road teams among playoff contenders, 117-111. It was the Nets’ fourth-straight loss and 11th in 13 games.

Kyrie Irving (hamstring) missed the previous contest and is listed as probable tomorrow, and whether you hate the guy or not, he’s taking a big chunk of offensive production with him, particularly a presence that can single-handedly takeover a game. He’s averaging 26.5 points, 6.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game on the season.

Spencer Dinwiddie is back as the number one guy if Irving sits again. The 26-year-old tallied 24.8 points and 7.2 assists a game without the All-Star point guard (26 games) and scored 22 and dished seven dimes when he returned to that role this past Tuesday.

ROAD TEAM: Los Angeles Lakers (35-9, 18-4 on the road)

The Lakers are on the road to redeeming themselves after a 32-point thrashing from the Boston Celtics earlier this week. Some of the ugly taste was washed away on Wednesday as they won against the New York Knicks, 100-92.

Anthony Davis will be in his third game back and he appears to be in good rhythm. He didn’t have a minutes restriction versus the Knicks, playing 30 minutes and scoring 28 points. Do note, though, that the Lakers could still elect to sit Davis tomorrow since it’ll be on the second night of a back-to-back.

Should the superstar big man rest, the other superstar, LeBron James will again be eyed to score and facilitate big. James is averaging a double-double on the season – 25.1 PPG and a league-leading 10.8 APG – and is fresh-off a three-game stretch where he had 44 assists.

Kyle Kuzma (20 PPG in five starts without Davis) and Dwight Howard (10 PPG, 12 RPG in his last eight) may also shine in Davis’s absence.

PREDICTION:

The Lakers should be able to win this with or without Davis, 116-108, but they ought to be locked in against high-scoring guards, like Irving and Dinwiddie, especially since they will be playing on tired legs.
