Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler, two of the game’s best two-way swingmen, are set to battle again as the LA Clippers and the Miami Heat meet for the second time in two weeks.

The Clippers handed the Heat a rare home loss back in January 25th, 122-117.

HOME TEAM: LA Clippers (35-15, 20-5 at home)

Things are looking good for the Clippers right now. They enter as winners in eight of their last 10 games, and their two superstars, Kawhi Leonard (27.4 PPG) and Paul George (22.7 PPG), are healthy heading to tomorrow’s contest.

The Clippers unloaded a third-quarter blast in the first meeting with the Heat that resulted in a game-changing 38-20 run. It paved the way for a laid-back final period where they just watched Miami run out of breath trying to catch-up.

With the then-sidelined George absent, Leonard’s first career triple-double (33 pts, 10 rebs, and 10 ast) and Landry Shamet’s season-high 22 points with six three-pointers led the charge. The bench also made its mark by having four guys score 12 or more points.

More of the same can be expected tomorrow, especially since it’ll be on their home turf.

ROAD TEAM: Miami Heat (34-15, 12-12 on the road)

The Heat have won three of their next four games following that said loss to the Clippers. They, too, are feeling good, as six of their guys are going to the All-Star Game and they have a participant in just about every event.

Six active Heat players are scoring over 12 per game, and it ranges between 12.2 and 20.7. What’s more interesting is that the top three – Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic, and Bam Adebayo – are all also dishing out over 4.8 assists per game.

The three will continue leading Miami’s balanced rotation, which is aiming hard for a different performance and outcome. The Heat are hoping to build-off Tuesday’s 137-106 decimation of the Philadelphia 76ers, where the team and Jimmy Butler (38 PTS) poured in season-highs in scoring.

PREDICTION:

We should see a Heat team that’s hungry for some revenge. They have an array of weapons and that can be effective for a good chunk of the game. The Clippers, however, are a very resilient team and would always play smoothly in the clutch. I see them taking it in a tight contest, 113-109.
