The Nuggets were triumphant in Indy a few weeks back, and the Pacers are now coming to Denver for payback.

HOME TEAM: Denver Nuggets (29-12, 17-5 at home)

The Denver Nuggets have won three-straight games and five of their last six. They are averaging 113.5 points per game in that span.

The Nuggets beat the Indiana Pacers last January 3rd, 124-116, led by three players scoring 20 or more points. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic each had 22, while rookie Michael Porter came off the bench to tally a career-high 25 points on an almost perfect shooting night (11-for-12).

Murray (17.6 PPG, 4.6 APG) and Jokic’s production are deemed automatic, particularly the latter, who’s averaging 22.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists since early December (22 games). Porter is also coming in hot as he has scored 16.7 points and shot 61.3% over his last three games.

The Nuggets, of course, have a collection of very capable scorers. Along with those three are Will Barton, Paul Millsap, and Gary Harris, and all can suddenly go for 20-plus at any given night.

ROAD TEAM: Indiana Pacers (27-15, 10-10 on the road)

The Pacers are also building a winning streak. They have put together four consecutive wins and have shot over 51% in three of those victories.

The loss to the Nuggets earlier in the month featured strong offense from the starters. Four of the five scored 18 or more, including Jeremy Lamb, who had a season-high 30 points.

Six Pacers are averaging double digit points on the season, and the top three – TJ Warren, Domantas Sabonis, and Malcolm Brogdon – are scoring over 17 per game. We should see those three continue leading the Pacers’ charge.

PREDICTION:

Jokic’s match-up with Sabonis and Myles Turner should be interesting, but he should be able to lead the Nuggets to a 111-105 win. They are at home and the Pacers aren’t exactly a competent road team.
