The Mavs opened a six-game homestand on Friday with a big-scoring win, and they look good against the Hornets tomorrow.

HOME TEAM: Dallas Mavericks (22-12, 10-7 at home)

The Dallas Mavericks are back in the win column after easing past the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, 123-111. Luka Doncic had team-highs 31 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, while Seth Curry came off-the-bench to chip in 25 points and go a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc.

With scoring partner Kristaps Porzingis (knee) and Tim Hardaway (hamstring) considered day-to-day, Luka will be in an even wider scope to drop insane numbers. Look for him to have a strong scoring tear everytime any of those two are out. He’s putting up 29.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 8.9 assists on the season and just had his 15th 30-plus point game of the season.

Curry, one of the Mavs’ bench mob guys, should also provide a couple of more good-scoring days. The 29-year-old is scoring 13.8 PPG ever since his 30-point explosion back in mid-December.

The Mavs are top three in scoring (116.5 PPG) and three-point shooting, and they also take care of the ball well as they commit the third-fewest turnovers in the league.

ROAD TEAM: Charlotte Hornets (14-23, 7-12 on the road)

The Hornets stopped some of the bleeding on Friday after a close, 109-106 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the victory, they snapped a six-game losing streak and a four-game skid on the road.

As seen in the record and the recent stretch, the Hornets are on track to being the lottery-team they were expected to be. There have been a handful of encouraging players, like the emergence of DeVonte’ Graham and rookie PJ Washington, but for now, Buzz City will get silenced for the most part.

Graham is a top candidate for Most Improved Player of the Year thanks to averaging 18.8 points and 7.8 assists per game, Washington scoring 12.6 PPG is one of the stronger rookies in a rather weak class, and off-season acquisition Terry Rozier is on-pace from predictions with his 17.5 PPG output.

The Hornets are 28th in scoring (103.9 PPG) and play the third-slowest pace in the league. They have only won one road game against a team with a winning record.

PREDICTION:

Luka Doncic will lead the way again. The Mavs win, 114-106.
