The Cleveland Cavaliers look to extend their winning streak to 16 when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies, who have won four in a row.

AWAY: Cleveland Cavaliers (55-10, 25-6 AWAY)

Projected starting five:

  • Darius Garland
  • Donovan Mitchell
  • DeAndre Hunter
  • Evan Mobley
  • Jarrett Allen

The league-leading Cavaliers are the hottest team in the NBA, riding a 15-game winning streak with an average margin of victory of 13.9 points (124.0 PPG). Their offensive prowess was on full display in their last meeting with the Grizzlies on February 24th, where they secured a 129-123 win behind stellar performances from their twin towers, Evan Mobley (25 pts, 13 rebs) and Jarrett Allen (13 pts, 10 rebs), and Donovan Mitchell (game-high 33 pts) led the way in attacking the defense.

With Darius Garland returning to the lineup after sitting out the previous meeting vs. MEM, the Cavs’ backcourt becomes even more dangerous. The wings—Max Strus, DeAndre Hunter, and Isaac Okoro—will be crucial as X-factors, providing defense and timely shooting. With the Grizzlies undermanned in the frontcourt, Mobley and Allen should have another favorable matchup, giving Cleveland a significant edge as they aim to extend their historic streak.

HOME: Memphis Grizzlies (42-24, 25-10 HOME)

Projected starting five:

  • Ja Morant
  • Desmond Bane
  • Jaylen Wells
  • Jaren Jackson Jr. (out) / Santi Aldama (out) / GG Jackson
  • Zach Edey

The Grizzlies are building momentum of their own, winning four straight games with a +5.8 net rating. However, they’ll face a tough challenge against the league-leading Cavaliers, especially with Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle) and Santi Aldama (calf) still sidelined.

Ja Morant and Desmond Bane remain as the focal points of the offense, though note that they struggled in their last matchup against the Cavs, combining to shoot an abysmal 8-for-26 from the floor. They’ll need to be more efficient this time around to keep the Grizzlies competitive.

Role players like GG Jackson, Luke Kennard, and Vince Williams must step up and get their shot going. Standout rookies Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells will be in that mix as well, and they ought to make their presence felt.

Edey and Jackson, in particular, will have their hands full as they are tasked to handle Cleveland’s dominant frontcourt, but even if they do, the dynamic backcourt must be kept in check too. Simply put, Morant and Bane must be on fire, while the rest have to do a fine job, and only then can they have a good chance.
