Away: Las Vegas Aces (27-13, 14-6 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Chelsea Gray
  • Stephanie Talbot
  • Jackie Young
  • NaLyssa Smith
  • A’ja Wilson

The Aces are headed to the WNBA playoffs, but they can’t lay down their cards on the table just yet. With games still to be played, there is a chance Las Vegas could lose home-court advantage in the postseason, so a win against the lowly Seattle squad is still a meaningful one. The Aces could also use some more reps before the postseason and after the long FIBA break.

A well-rested A’ja Wilson, who didn’t join Team USA in Berlin, sounds like trouble for the Storm. In the first meeting with Seattle in June, Wilson torched the Storm for 34 points and 12 rebounds in a 101-91 Aces win at home. The Aces are also on a three-game winning streak, with their last outing resulting in a 93-73 demolition of the Toronto Tempo at home before the break.

Las Vegas is 5-5 against the spread in its last 10 games.

Home: Seattle Storm (8-32, 6-14 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Flau’jae Johnson
  • Jade Melbourne
  • Jordan Horston
  • Dominique Malonga
  • Ezi Magbegor

Seattle just wants to look a little better before it goes on a vacation. The Storm have gone just 1-4 straight up in their last five outings, including a 90-74 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Sparks at home prior to the break. While there is not much to look forward to for the Storm, they can be tricky to deal with for a team like the Aces, who will be the road team in this matchup following a long rest.

The Storm have also consistently covered the spread, with a 21-17 ATS record this season. They are also 12-7 ATS at home. In their loss to the Aces, the Storm covered the 15.5-point spread, largely thanks to Dominique Malonga, who had 19 points. However, Natisha Hiedeman, who had 17 points in that game, could miss this rematch against the Aces, as she hasn’t played in the last four Seattle outings due to a shoulder injury.
