The 2026 WNBA season will come to a close Sunday, but not before crowning a new champion, as the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries go all out in a Game 7 clash in the WNBA Finals. Will Angel Reese and the Dream take down Golden State on the road? Or, will the Valkyries bring a WNBA title to the Bay Area?

Away: Atlanta Dream (3-3)
Projected Starting Five:
- Allisha Gray
- Jordin Canada
- Naz Hillmon
- Rhyne Howard
- Angel Reese
The Dream lived the dream from behind the arc in Game 6 and forced a winner-take-all Game 7 against Golden State.
After shooting only 24.8 percent from deep in the first five games of the 2026 WNBA Finals, the Dream went 13/30 from the 3-point region (43.5%) to beat Golden State on Friday, 80-69, at home. Now, Atlanta will have to find a way to beat the Valkyries for the title, and the Dream will have to do it on the road.
The Dream have lost two of the three games played in the Finals in the Bay Area, including the last one there in Game 5 (64-55). While the shooting in the series has been bad for both teams, the Dream are faring better at 37.2 FG% to 34.5 FG% by Golden State.
Atlanta blitzed the Valkyries for 32 points in the first quarter of Game 6, while limiting Golden State to just 15 points. Establishing momentum will be key for the Dream in Game 7, especially on the road in a game of this magnitude.
Home: Golden State Valkyries (3-3)
Projected Starting Five:
- Kayla Thornton
- Gabby Williams
- Cecilia Zandalasini
- Kiah Stokes
- Veronica Burton
Gabby Williams’ 26 points on 8/22 shooting in Game 6 clearly were not enough to win the title in six games for the Valkyries, but she’ll continue to be a focal point of the team’s offense in this huge matchup in The Bay.
The again, it was not as much about how many points she scored in Game 6 as how much she got in support. Kiah Stokes, after scoring 13 points in a huge Game 5 win, laid an egg in Game 6, taking only two attempts from the field in 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Kaila Charles and Veronica Burton combined for 14 points on a horrible 4/18 shooting.
Tiffany Hayes was the only non-Williams starter who had a meaningful scoring night, finishing with 15 points on 6/10 shooting. After shooting 31% from the field in Game 6, the Valkyries could get a timely hand from positive regression in Game 7. It is worth noting, however, that Golden State is shooting only 35% in home games in the Finals.
