Montrezl Harrell vs. Domantas Sabonis

Montrezl Harrell decided to play with his own LA Clippers team, and Domantas Sabonis answered by picking his Indiana Pacers. The Lithuanian-American grabbed a very early lead, but didn’t have much of an answer for Harrell’s transition offense. Just like his teammate Patrick Beverley the other day, Harrell was extremely vocal on the mic, but wasn’t as grating to his opponent. Sabonis had a few funny quips during the game, at one point saying it was a little unrealistic that his virtual self went to the right to the basket for a basket in the post. In the end, Harrell won the game handily with a final score of 73-51.

Donovan Mitchell vs. Rui Hachimura

The second game of the day say Donovan ‘Spida’ Mitchell take on rookie Rui Hachimura. The two players started off sharing friendly pleasantries, with Mitchell saying he’s finally recovered from his bout with COVID-19. Hachimura went big with the Lakers to start off with, while Mitchell played with the Nets. The game mostly centered around a battle between the Lakers duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis against Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. It was much quieter on the comms compared to the first game of the day. It was a tight game throughout the first three quarters, and was tied 65-65 going with 1:32 left in the game. The rookie took a late lead and Mitchell failed to make a buzzer-beating three for the tie, giving Hachimura a close 74-71 victory.

Devin Booker vs. Michael Porter Jr.

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, who is serious about video games, took on Denver Nuggets young gun Michael Porter Jr – and they picked a good LA Lakers vs. Milwaukee Bucks lineup. Booker felt that the difficulty should have been set to Hall of Fame instead of All-Star, seeing as the virtual Javale McGee developed a mid-range jumpshot. As expected, there was a marquee battle between LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Booker held the lead for most of the game, but Porter Jr. got it to within two with a couple of minutes left. However, he wasn’t able to make much more of a dent, and Booker walked away with an 85-75 win.

Andre Drummond vs. DeMarcus Cousins

The second blowout of the day came from Andre Drummond, who used the LA Lakers to soundly defeat DeMarcus Cousins and the Brooklyn Nets. It was tight in the first half, which ended 35-42. Drummond wasn’t playing around though, staging an epic second half beatdown that saw him outscore Cousins 59-14 through the third and fourth quarters. The game finished 101-49, and the former Kings star will be the butt of a lot of jokes from his friends and family today.

With that victory, the quarterfinals brackets have been set. Have a look at the image below to see who’s going to be facing each other in the next round. Personally, I’d like to see Harrell and Beverley make the finals, just to watch the two teammates yell and talk trash to each other.
