The offseason is upon us, and it is also the time for teams to start preparing to shoot their shot in the upcoming Summer Season. Some teams have adapted changes in their roster, while others stand their ground with their Spring rosters, all for the sake of making sure they meet their goals.

Are you curious about which teams are taking steps to adapt?

Afreeca Freecs

  • Top: Kim “Kiin” Gi-in
  • Jungle: Lee “Dread” Jin-hyeok; Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon
  • Mid: Kim “ALL-IN” Tae-yang; Song “Fly” Yoong-jun
  • Bot: Jin “Mystic” Seong-Jun
  • Support: Son “Jelly” Ho-gyeong

After landing just out of reach from the Top 5 for the playoffs, Afreeca Freecs strives hard to make it into the upcoming Summer playoffs this time around.

They have not made any changes since shifting ALL IN to the starting roster for mid lane during the Spring regular season, but it certainly won’t hurt their chances if they make any more.

APK Prince

  • Top: Jeon “ikssu” Ik-soo
  • Jungle: Sung “Flawless” Yeon-jun
  • Mid: Kim “Cover” Joo-eun
  • Bot: Lee “HyBriD” Woo-jin
  • Support: Park “Secret Ki-sun

Sitting at 7th place during the Spring season is APK Prince. They were safe from potential demotion in the Summer Promotions tournament, but they were not exactly at the high ground as well.

DAMWON Gaming

  • Top: Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon
  • Jungle: Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu
  • Mid: Heo “ShowMaker” Su
  • Bot: Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun
  • Support: Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee

The fifth team to take the playoffs seed, and the fourth placer in the Spring playoffs, Damwon Gaming is home to some of the best technical players like Nuguri and ShowMaker, and they seem to keep their stance moving into the Summer split despite losing in the playoffs, for now.

DragonX

  • Top: Choi “Doran” Hyon-joon
  • Jungle: Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon
  • Mid: Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon
  • Bot: Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu
  • Support: Ryu “Keria” Min-seok

DragonX managed to take third place in the Spring playoffs, only losing to the superior T1. Their roster is solid, especially with the recent recruits with Pyosik and Keria.

Gen.G

  • Top: Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee
  • Jungle: Kim “Clid” Tae-min
  • Mid: Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong
  • Bot: Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk
  • Support: Kim “Life” Jeong-min

The top placer in the regular season and the second placer in the playoffs, Gen.G shows that they are a force to be reckoned with. Their team is more than solid enough for another attempt to snag a victory, so we’ll definitely see more of these players soon.

Hanwha Life Esports

  • Top: Lee “CuVee” Seong-jin; Lee “DuDu” Dong-ju
  • Jungle: Kang “Haru” Min-seung
  • Mid: None (as of now)
  • Bot: Oh “Vsta” Hyo-seong
  • Support: Son “Lehends” Si-woo

Hanwha Life barely had to deal with a demotion series as they place 8th during the regular season. The team introduces a new toplaner alongside CuVee named DuDu just last May 11. Little is known about the rookie, so we can only wait until the summer to see if this adaptation is effective.

The former mid laner, Tempt, left the team and became a free agent last May 8. The team currently has no mid laner, so they are set to find a replacement before the summer.

KT Rolster

  • Top: Jeon “Ray” Ji-woon; Kim “SoHwan” Jun-yeong
  • Jungle: Kim “bonO” Gi-beom; Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong
  • Mid: Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng
  • Bot: Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram
  • Support: Park “TusiN” Jong-ik

Despite placing at 4th in the regular season but last in the playoffs, KT Rolster still holds on to their current roster. At this point, a roster change might as well be considered to avoid another blunder.

SANDBOX Gaming

  • Top: Han “Lonely” Gyu-joon; Park “Summit” Woo-tae
  • Jungle: Kim “OnFleek” Jang-gyeom; Son “Punch” Min-hyuk
  • Mid: Kim “Dove” Jae-yeon; Yoo “FATE” Su-hyeok
  • Bot: Moon “Route” Geom-su
  • Support: Han “Leo” Gyeo-re

SANDBOX Gaming managed to live on the LCK after winning the LCK Summer Promotion series from the Losers’ Bracket.

Things may take a huge turn for this team after YamatoCannon, a former coach for Team Vitality and LEC Championship analyst, joins the team as their new head coach. He is the first Western coach to join an LCK Team, a historical move that may shake up the competition.

T1

  • Top: Kim “Canna” Chang-dong
  • Jungle: Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan; Choi “Ellim” El-lim
  • Mid: Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok
  • Bot: Park “Teddy” Jin-seong
  • Support: Lee “Effort” Sang-ho

Who could ever forget the team T1 (formerly SKT T1), the Korean team that made history in all of League eSports? Placing 2nd during the regular season and topping the playoffs, there’s no doubt that this team is still going strong.

T1 will always be the hurdle that all LCK teams need to cross, or else fail trying.

Team Dynamics

  • Top: Lee “Rich” Jae-won
  • Jungle: Kim “Beyond” Kyu-seok
  • Mid: Lee “Kuzan” Seong-hyeok
  • Bot: Seo “Feiz” Dae-gil
  • Support: Kim “GuGer” Do-yeop

Team Dynamics is fresh off the boat as the winner from the LCK Summer Promotions series. Hailing from the Challengers Korea series, this team has proven that they can play with the big shots.

They are certainly a team to be watched out for, as an unsuspecting sweep can be likely if other teams won’t do their homework.

Who are your bets in this upcoming Summer season?
