Everyone’s always arguing about LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard. The good majority also believe that a Western Conference Finals showdown between the LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers and Kawhi’s LA Clippers is a foregone conclusion.

They’re probably right.

But, as always, there’s one dark horse team that we really can’t point out. It’s hiding plain sight and actually equipped to disrupt the fans’ dream match-up.

It’s anyone’s guess at this point as to who it might be, but for NBA Hall-of-Famer and current analyst Grant Hill, he’s leaning towards the Houston Rockets.

Here’s what he said on NBA TV this past Thursday:

“I’ll tell you what: James Harden looks like he’s at his freshman year at Arizona State. He looks fantastic from the videos and things he’s posted, so having him in shape is dangerous for opponents.“

Just in case you weren’t able to catch it in the clip, here’s how Harden looks like after shedding some weight:

But with or without the weight loss, Hill’s dark horse pick is actually good. The Rockets are the only team with two former MVPs, and what’s even better is they each got the award within the last four years – Harden and Russell Westbrook took home the hardwood last 2017 and 2018, respectively.

Hill also praised Russ and the other guys in the rotation:

“Westbrook is starting to find his rhythm and role, Eric Gordon has been in and out of injury all season, but now he’s healthy, and my sleeper is Ben McLemore, he’s shooting the ball this year at a career-high.

“This is a dangerous team, a team that nobody wants to play. Even though they are a six seed, they are a team that can get really far in the playoffs.”

The two former MVPs are also parading stat-stuffing numbers, with Harden at 34.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 4.4 threes, and 1.7 steals, and Westbrook at 27.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.7 steals.

The Rockets are also going all in with their small-ball, three-point-heavy attack, which was made even more obvious on the trade deadline when they sent their starting big man, Clint Capela, for another three-point specialist, forward Robert Covington.

Houston is second in points (118.1 PPG), and first in three-point attempts and made (15.4), as well as free throw attempts and made (20.5).
