Away: Phoenix Suns (3-1 / 1-1 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Tyus Jones
  • Devin Booker
  • Bradley Beal
  • Kevin Durant
  • Jusuf Nurkic

The Suns will be looking to stay undefeated in Inglewood this Friday. It can be recalled that Phoenix spoiled the Clippers’ debut in their new homecourt in the Suns’ 116-113 overtime victory at Intuit Dome last week. Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal led the Suns’ attack with 25 and 24 points, respectively. Devin Booker only had 15 points, though, he only took nine shots from the floor.

Trey Jones’ impact on the Suns was immediately felt, as the former Duke Blue Devils star had 11 points and eight assists while finishing with plus-6 – the best among all Suns starters. Although the Suns lost their next game to the Los Angeles Lakers, they have since gone 2-0, with back-to-back wins over the Dallas Mavericks (114-102) and during the rematch with the Purple & Gold (109-105) both at home.

The Suns are 4-2 against the spread in their last six games as the road team versus the Clippers, dating back to 2022.

Home: Los Angeles Clippers (2-2/ 0-2 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • James Harden
  • Norman Powell
  • Terance Mann
  • Derrick Jones Jr.
  • Ivica Zubac

The Clippers, who are 2-2 ATS in their last four games as the home team, don’t have to wait long to get a chance for revenge against Phoenix. And sure, the Clips lost to Phoenix last week, Ty Lue’s squad surprised many by keeping that game close against the high-powered Suns. With Paul George no longer around and Kawhi Leonard out with a knee issue, the Clippers kept in step with Phoenix, thanks in large part to the inside-out duo of James Harden and Ivica Zubac. Harden had 20 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists in that game while Zubac had 21 points and nine rebounds.

The Clippers also got 17 points from Norman Powell and 12 from Derrick Jones Jr. Harden can still play at a high level and the likes of Powell, Zubac, and Jones are all stepping up to help the former league MVP. Winning the rebounding battle in the first meeting with the Suns allowed LA to be competitive, as the Clippers were +9 on the glass. That helped them be +14 in field goal attempts differential.
