Away: Minnesota Timberwolves (2-2)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Ayo Dosunmu
  • Anthony Edwards
  • Jaden McDaniels
  • Julius Randle
  • Rudy Gobert

Anthony Edwards took control for the Timberwolves in Game 4, as the Timberwolves evened the series with a 114-109 win at home on Monday.

That victory was huge for Minnesota. Not only did the Timberwolves avoid a 3-1 series hole, but they also gained momentum heading into the pivotal Game 5 in enemy Territory.

But the T-wolves have already proven themselves in San Antonio in this series when they stole Game 1 at Frost Bank Center with a 104-102 triumph.

Edwards went off for 36 points on 13/22 shooting in Game 4. Meanwhile, Julius Randle, despite Victor Wembanyama getting ejected from the game early, produced just 12 points on 5/12 shooting. Randle has scored exactly 12 points in each of the last three games, but he could be due for a breakout this Wednesday. He had 21 points and 10 rebounds back in the series opener in San Antonio. Randle is shooting just 37% so far in the series.

Home: San Antonio Spurs (2-2)

Projected Starting Five:

  • De’Aaron Fox
  • Stephon Castle
  • Devin Vassell
  • Julian Champagnie
  • Victor Wembanyama

San Antonio can consider itself lucky despite losing Game 4.

Wembanyama has avoided suspension and will be back in action in Game 5 after he got tossed out of Game 4 due to a flagrant 2 foul. He only played 12 minutes in that contest, which means Wemby’s mile-long legs will be fresh for Game 5.

One concern for the Spurs, however, is the health of point guard De’Aaron Fox, who is listed as questionable due to a lower-body issue. He’s likely to play, but his status will have to be monitored. Fox had 24 points in Game 4. Dylan Harper is another player to watch out for on the side of San Antonio after he came off the bench and fired 24 points in the series-tying loss to Minnesota.

Thus far in the series, San Antonio is putting up 114.8 points and limiting the Timberwolves to just 105.3 points per outing.
