The LA Clippers are on a roll and will be in good shape to stay in rhythm as the Sacramento Kings come to town.

HOME TEAM: LA Clippers (33-14, 19-4 at home)

The Clippers are winners in six of their last seven games, and that one loss was when both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were out. They are scoring 117.4 points per game in that span and only allow opponents to shoot 31.4% from three and 41.4% overall.

With his co-All-Star George out, Kawhi will continue powering the Clippers. He had a team-high 24 points in their easy 105-87 win over the Kings on New Year’s day, and he’s also on MVP mode as of late, putting up 35 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and one block on 51.8%-shooting over his last eight games.

As usual, Lou Williams (19.7 PPG, 6 APG), Montrezl Harrell (19.3 PPG, 7.2 RPG), and Landry Shamet will be backing up Leonard. Shamet has been on a groove this past week as he’s averaging 18 points and 4.3 threes per game in his last four outings.

ROAD TEAM: Sacramento Kings (17-30, 9-16 on the road)

The Kings made a quick return the loss column after back-to-back wins. They got blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, 120-100, for their seventh defeat in nine games.

Buddy Hield’s sudden change into a bench role has resulted in mixed reviews so far. He failed to provide a follow-up on his 42-point performance this past Tuesday as he only scored 13 on 5-for-12 shooting against the Thunder. Hield (20.4 PPG), however, is still the best scorer on the team and should be eyed for points again.

It was all Hield and Richaun Holmes (13.1 PPG, 8.1 RPG) for the Kings during that loss to the Clippers weeks back. They notched 20 and 22 points, respectively, and were the only two guys from the team to reach double figures.

Holmes has been out for over two weeks and could still be sidelined until early February. We’ll see if other key scorers – De’Aron Fox (19.3 PPG, 7.2 APG), Bogdan Bogdanovic (14.3 PPG), and Harrison Barnes (15 PPG) – can play better than their previous showing against the Clippers.

PREDICTION:

The Clippers should be able to win this without breaking much sweat, 111-100. Look for Kawhi to have another big stat line. They’ll be taking on a tired and undermanned Kings squad.
