The Golden State Warriors just got beaten the brakes off them by the reigning NBA champions. But they have a chance to gather themselves and make a statement win when they share the floor with the surging Sacramento Kings for the second time this season. Will the Warriors recover with a win against Sacramento? Or, will the Kings get another win with Doug Christie calling the shots?

Away: Golden State Warriors (21-21/10-10 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Stephen Curry
  • Dennis Schroder
  • Gary Payton II
  • Andrew Wiggins
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis

Stephen Curry can’t do it all for the Warriors. Golden State got reminded of that again last Tuesday when the Dubs got humiliated in a 125-85 loss at the hands of the reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics at home.

Curry had 18 points in the Celtics game but was just 6-for-16 from the field while no other Warriors starter scored in double-figures. The pressure is on for the likes of Andrew Wiggins and Dennis Schroder to step up after the two combined for a brutal 4-for-19 shooting and 11 points against Boston. The Kings have been playing better under Doug Christie, but their offense is still susceptible, offering a chance for the Warriors to rebound offensively. Important to note here as well is that the Warriors will be without Brandin Podziemski, Kyle Anderson, Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga due to injuries.

The Warriors are 4-1 against the spread in their last five visits to Sacramento. They are also 4-3 ATS in their last seven meetings with the Kings overall.

Home: Sacramento Kings (22-20/12-12 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • De’Aaron Fox
  • Malik Monk
  • DeMar DeRozan
  • Keegan Murray
  • Domantas Sabonis

The Kings can end a three-game unblemished this Thursday as they welcome the Warriors. Sacramento won its last two games against the Houston Rockets (132-127) and Washington Wizards (123-100), both at home, on Friday and Monday, respectively. Although this is the first time Christie’s first home game against the Warriors as the Kings’ interim head coach, he was the one who steered Sacramento to a 129-99 win over the Warriors in San Francisco on Jan. 5.

The Kings blasted Golden State in that game with an unreal shooting from deep, going 19-for-43 on their 3-point attempts. De’Aaron Fox was absent in the Warriors game due to injury, but he’s now healthy and ready to help Sacramento take down Golden State again. But it could be another former Kentucky Wildcats guard who could give the Warriors a major headache. Malik Monk had 26 points in the last meeting with Golden State and scored 23 points in the Washington game.

The Kings have beaten the spread in all of their last four home games. Moreover, Sacramento is 7-2-1 ATS in its last 10 games overall.
