Following reports that Brooklyn Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant and three of his teammates have tested positive for COVID-19, the entire Los Angeles Lakers roster are preparing to be tested.
Here’s Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times breaking the news:
Sources: Lakers just had conference call with players and will be tested tomorrow for Coronavirus and will have 14 day self-quarantine.

The two teams, as you may remember, met at Staples Center last March 11th – one day before Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert became the first NBA to test positive for COVID-19, which led to the league’s indefinite suspension of games.
The four Nets extended the list of coronavirus-infected players to six, joining Gobert, his Jazz teammate Donovan Mitchell, and Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood. It’s yet another sign that we’ll not be seeing any NBA action for the months to come.
For the Lakers and their fans, the sudden stoppage is quite frustrating. Prior to the suspension, the Purple and Gold have boosted its confidence by knocking off powerhouse opponents Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers in back-to-back games, both in decisive fashion.
The Lakers are sitting atop the Western Conference with a 49-14 record, with LeBron James averaging 30.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.9 assists per game on 54.6% shooting in his last 10 games, and Anthony Davis at 30.8 PPG over his last four.
As for Durant, the unfortunate news is hopefully not a setback for his return. There are talks that he may be able to take the floor should the games resume in June or later months, but with the recent development, the Nets management might elect to be extra cautious.
