Troy Rosario showed up and led TNT to a dominant performance in Game 3 of the 2020 Philippine Cup Finals against the Barangay Ginebra Kings.

In the first two games, the Tropang Giga had control but had meltdowns and collapsed in the fourth quarter – which resulted to them being down in the series 0-2 against the streaking Kings.

However, in Game 3, TNT proved that they learned from its mistakes and that they can win without Ray Parks as Rosario, who has been struggling in this year’s playoffs finally balled out.

The 28-year-old forward finished with 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and two blocks and shot 7-9 from the field.

RR Pogoy backed him up with 18 points, six rebounds and six steals while Poy Erram had 12 points and 14 rebounds. Jayson Castro also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.

Still missing the presence of Parks who is out due to a calf injury, TNT showed a well-rounded performance, dominating on both ends as they shot 42% from the field while only allowing Barangay Ginebra to shoot 35% while forcing them into committing 23 turnovers.

Tropang Giga head coach Bong Ravena admitted that focusing the offense on Rosario to build his confidence was the plan in tonight’s game.

“Troy and Erram ever since, binibigay na yung help (defense) sakanila. Siguro medyo pressured lang yung dalawa and ngayon lang lumabas which is very important. ‘Yun naman kailangan e. Especially, this year, kailangan naming sila,” he said during the post-game press conference.

TNT finally have some momentum after booking their first Finals series win since 2015. Now, heading into Game 4 of the series, with the Tropang Giga will be confident. The Kings once again felt how good they’re opponent is, something that their coach Tim Cone warned them about prior to Game 3.
