It’s a quiet night for Ginebra’s haters as the Gin Kings are back in the PBA finals. By now, you’ve probably read a ton of celebratory updates from their fanbase on Facebook and Twitter.

Much of the cruising victory is thanks to import Justin Brownlee, who led Ginebra with yet another swiss-army knife performance: 36 points, 19 rebounds, eight assists, three steals, and two blocks. He seemed like he didn’t break sweat bullying his way through the teeth of the defense too, as he shot 12-for-15 from two.

Don’t count out the locals

Brownlee was Brownlee, but true to the Tim Cone system, many of the locals were able to get their fair share of opportunities to shine. All of the import’s co-starters – LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, and Stanley Pringle – reached double figures.

Thompson, in particular, had a pretty solid game. Though having the lowest output among the starters, with 14, he was the most efficient in attempts and effort as he made all of his shots from inside the line and also hauled in an impressive eight offensive rebounds.

The crisp passing beautiful to watch as well, as the same five guys combined for 29 assists – all while other teams as a whole struggle to have 20 assists.

Christian Hardinger played his heart out, but Ginebra just punctured through it

Christian Hardinger, probably still bitter from his shocking trade away from the San Miguel Beermen, laid everything on the floor tonight. With import Michael Qualls struggling, C-Stan led Northport in just about everything as he logged team-highs 32 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists on 65.3%-shooting.

It’s a tough ending for the prideful Northport bunch, but they’ll be back in no time. The rest of the league better watch out for this squad.
