San Miguel Beermen (3-1)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jerrick Ahanmisi
  • CJ Perez
  • Marcio Lassiter
  • George King
  • Junemar Fajardo

San Miguel is looking to bounce right back after suffering its first loss of the conference. The Beermen’s spotless record was gashed by the NLEX Road Warriors in a 110-96 loss last Sunday. Import George King led the way for San Miguel with 31 points on 9/16 shooting, but he also repeatedly shot his team in the foot with his nine turnovers.

As a team, the Beermen turned the ball over 18 times. Turnovers have been a major issue for San Miguel this season, and it finally bit them in the NLEX game after surviving ball security problems in its first three outings. While Titan Ultra looks light on paper, the Beermen will have to be careful against the Giant Risers, whose lone win to date was a stunning upset against a perennial title contender.

Titan Ultra Giant Risers (1-4)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Fran Yu
  • Jerrick Balanza
  • Joshua Munzon
  • Pablo Javillonar
  • Tirrell Brown

At least the Giant Risers have ensured that they will not finish the conference winless. Titan Ultra stunned the TNT Tropang 5G in a 103-87 victory last week, but the Giant Risers came back down to Earth the following game, suffering a 136-126 loss at the hands of the Macau Giant Pandas.

Giving up that many points surely does not look good on Titan Ultra, which is among the worst in the league with a 115.9 defensive rating. Still, it’s not lost that the Giant Risers held TNT to just 87 points and only 42.5 percent shooting from the field. They can replicate that feat this Wednesday against the Beermen, who just had their armor damaged in a loss. Tirrell Brown scored 30 points for the Titan Ultra in the Macau game, while Joshua Munzon and Fran Yu had 19 and 17 points, respectively.
