The visiting Heat look to sweep the season series as these two battle for the second time this week. Can the Spurs avenge Thursday’s loss?

HOME TEAM: San Antonio Spurs (17-23, 11-10 at home)

The San Antonio Spurs’ fade into the darkness continues. They are six games below .500 yet again, and will head to tomorrow’s game having lost back-to-back games, one of which was a 106-100 defeat against the Miami Heat.

DeMar DeRozan has been quite impressive in the past month, averaging 27.1 points per game on an astounding 63.8% shooting in his last 13 games – the percentage is so high, you would think it’s a typo. In the loss to the Heat days ago, he scored 30 points and went 12-for-14 from the floor.

Sadly, though, he’s the only interesting piece on the Spurs right now, and he alone won’t be enough – not even with an amazing run. LaMarcus Aldridge (19.1 PPG) is still able to display his game every now and then but he has become less and less impactful.

The Spurs are eighth in scoring (113.8 PPG) and offensive efficiency but only 26th in points allowed (114.9 PAPG).

ROAD TEAM: Miami Heat (28-12, 11-11 on the road)

The Miami Heat are winners of two-straight games. After the said win against the Spurs, they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road Saturday, 115-108. The team-oriented offense was showcased well once again as seven Heat players scored in double figures.

We should see the same type of production tomorrow. Seven players are averaging double-digit points across the last two weeks, and the Heat are scoring 116.1 PPG on 51%-shooting in that span.

All-Star hopefuls Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo will continue leading the Heat. Both have furthered their efficiency this month; aside from scoring, the two are also dishing out over five assists per game and shooting really, really well – Butler is at 55.7% while Adebayo is at 68.7%

PREDICTION:

The Heat fail to slow down DeRozan’s hot streak but they sweep the season series and end up with a 113-108 win. Expect a ton of threes as the Spurs have given up 16.3 three-pointers in their last seven games.
