The Rockets play host and lead the season series, 2-1. The matchups have been packed with a lot of action and come-from-behind victories, and it is bound to continue tomorrow.

HOME TEAM: Houston Rockets (39-21, 21-8 at home)

The Rockets are looking to make a quick return in the win column. They had their six game winning streak snapped on Tuesday after getting upset by the New York Knicks, 125-123.

Despite the loss, Houston is still registering prolific numbers offensively. Through a fast-paced attack, the team is scoring 125.3 points and 19.8 threes per game in its last six. It will remain as an intriguing foil to the Clippers’ depth on defense.

Houston’s star tandem is how you’d expect it to be against the Clippers. James Harden, in particular, has been scoring at will, as he is dropping 37.3 points on 50% shooting. Westbrook isn’t as efficient in his shots (38.5%) but he’s still able to put up 26.3 PPG.

Robert Covington is the third scorer as of late. He’s posting 14.2 PPG in his last six.

ROAD TEAM: LA Clippers (42-19, 17-13 on the road)

The Clippers have stitched together five straight wins after a three-game losing streak. They are averaging 120.6 points on 50.4% shooting in that span and held three opponents to under 98 points.

Like the Rockets, the Clippers’ two superstars are also up to par with the expectations. Paul George is scoring 26.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals against Houston, while Kawhi Leonard is at 25 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.7 steals.

Over at the supporting cast’s side, Lou Williams has 17.3 points and 5.0 assists per game in the season series. Big man Montrezl Harrell is only tallying 13.7 PPG in the three meetings (almost six points less than his average on the year) but he maybe in a favorable match-up this time as the Rockets are pretty small in the paint.

PREDICTIONS:

The duel between the perennial All-Stars should be quite interesting again. In the end, though, I see the Clippers escaping with a squeaky 118-115 win. They are on a roll and we should see them continue that pace tomorrow.
