Away: Chicago Sky (7-14, 4-7 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Azura Stevens
  • Kamilla Cardoso
  • Courtney Vandersloot
  • Sydney Taylor
  • Gabriela Jaquez

The Sky are not exactly going places this season, but at least they have some momentum going into this meeting with the Sparks. Chicago defeated the Phoenix Mercury on the road on Wednesday, 77-66, thanks in large part to the Sky’s outside sniping.

The team shot 11/27 from behind the arc, with Sydney Taylor leading the charge. Taylor had 16 points on 6/11 shooting from the floor and 3/7 from deep.

Even though they have won just one game in their last three outings, two of those losses were competitive against none other than the reigning WNBA champions, the Las Vegas Aces. Last Saturday, they took the Aces to overtime before ultimately suffering a 98-90 defeat.

The Sky have covered the spread in three of their last four games against Los Angeles on the road, dating back to 2024.

Home: Los Angeles Sparks (9-11 , 4-7 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Nneka Ogwumike
  • Dearica Hamby
  • Erica Wheeler
  • Ariel Atkins
  • Rae Burrell

Like the Sky, Los Angeles snapped a losing skid with a win in its most recent game. Behind the three-headed monster attack of Nneka Ogwumike, Dearica Hamby and Rae Burrell, LA took down Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever at home on Thursday, 106-92.

Ogwumike paced the Sparks with 24 points on 9/19 shooting, while Burrell and Hamby combined had 22 and 21 points, respectively, on a combined 17/30 shooting. The Sparks are still missing Cameron Brink and Kelsey Plum, leaving big holes on their roster, but they remain a threat to any team, especially to a side like the Sky, who have not been really exceptional this season.

Ogwumike is doing a fine job leading the offense amid Plum’s absence, as she is averaging 16.5 points per game this season. As a team, the Sparks are in the top five in the league with an average of 88.4 points per game.

Los Angeles is 3-2 against the spread in its last five games as the home team.
