Away: Atlanta Dream (1-1)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Allisha Gray
  • Jordin Canada
  • Naz Hillmon
  • Rhyne Howard
  • Angel Reese

The Dream hit back in Game 2 – hard. Angel Reese stepped up big time for her team and delivered a dominant performance to lead Atlanta to a series-tying 79-65 victory at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif. The former LSU Tigers star Reese dropped 30 points on 10/16 shooting and grabbed 16 boards, while getting ample support from the other stars.

Allisha Gray contributed 18 points with three 3-pointers, while Jordin Canada put up 13 points (albeit on 3/14 shooting) with 10 assists and seven boards.

Rhyne Howard hasn’t quite made her presence felt offensively in the series with just 17 points on 5/21 shooting through two games, but a return home to Atlanta could give the former No. 1 overall pick the spark she needs to get it going. Howard is averaging 20.0 points in home games so far in the 2026 WNBA playoffs.

Home: Golden State Valkyries (1-1)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Kayla Thornton
  • Gabby Williams
  • Cecilia Zandalasini
  • Kiah Stokes
  • Veronica Burton

The Valkyries tasted Atlanta’s wrath in Game 2 and have no plans to experience it again. Golden State is now on a mission to reclaim the series lead after a letdown showing in Game 2.  The Valkyries’ attack looked stale at times.

In the second quarter, the Valkyries were smoked by Atlanta with a 10-0 run and even had seven straight minutes without getting a field goal. Meanwhile, Gabby Williams will look to rediscover her offense. She went off for 26 points in Game 1 but was limited to just 14 points in Game 2, going 3/15 from the field and 1/6 from behind the arc.

But it’s Golden State’s defense that perhaps needs to show up more in the series. The Dream shot just 33.9 percent from the floor in Game 2 but were 30/35 from the free-throw line.
