Rain or Shine has secured a ticket to the quarterfinals, but the Elasto Painters still have a shot at a higher seed. With two games left on their schedule, they can have as many as seven wins, which would be more than what current Group B top team Magnolia has. 

The Chicken Timplados Hotshots only habe this meeting with Rain or Shine remaining for them before the playoffs. The Elasto Painter resume action after a long break and outlasted the Blackwater Bossing, 125-123, over the weekend. 

Import Aaron Fuller went off with 24 points and 19 rebounds, while Caelan Tiongson posted 22 points. Adrian Nocum, meanwhile, scored 20 points off the bench. Nocum is a marked man for Magnolia, having scored 31 points on 11/16 shooting in their first meeting in July, which Rain or Shine won by the slimmest of margins, 98-97.

The Chicken Timplados Hotshots are one of the hottest teams right now, as they carry a five-game winning streak to Wednesday’s meeting with Rain or Shine. In its most recent outing, Magnolia demolished the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 112-93, on Oct. 11. 

That was the Chicken Timplados Hotshots’ second win in a row since the resumption of play following a long pause in the conference. Magnolia’s offense is humming, and it has scored at least 101 points in each of the team’s last four outings. Against Ginebra, the Hotshots shot 50.6 percent from the field and drained 12 3-pointers. 

They will look to keep it going against Rain or Shine, which has allowed an average of 126.0 points in its last two games.  In the first meeting with the Elasto Painters, import KJ Buffen had 21 points and 17 boards, while Zav Lucero had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
