The odds were in Suning’s favor (1.42 to 2.45) but it would be a tough match against a Dominus Esports (DMO) team that had nothing to lose since they were in 16th place and had no hope of making the playoffs.

Suning (5W 8L), on the other hand, saw a tiny window of opportunity open thanks to both OMG and Team WE losing their matches yesterday. OMG (7W 6L) sits in the final playoff now while Team WE (6W 6L) are close behind.

However, they also still have to contend with Rogue Warriors (6W 7L), Vici (6-8), LGD (5W 7L), and Bilibili (with an identical 5W 8L record) – making it all but impossible that they make the playoffs.

With little but pride to play for, it would be interesting to see how the two teams approach today’s matchup.

Game 1:

Suning: Bin (Ornn), SofM (Sett), Angel (Corki), huanfeng (Miss Fortune), SwordArt (Thresh)

DMO: Natural (Wukong), Xiaopeng (RekSai), xiye (Azir), GALA (Varus), Mark (Nautilus)

SofM got punished for the first death of the game in the seventh minute – which also opened up a chance for DMO to take the first dragon of the game.

DMO won a big fight in the tenth minute, taking out SofM, Angel, huanfeng, and SwordArt to take a 5-1 kill lead and the 1K gold advantage.

DMO took the first turret of the game in the bot lane in the 13th minute. They also quickly took down their second dragon. They shortly took Bin down after to push it to 6-2 and the gold lead to over 2K.

All of Suning tried to push into the mid land in the 15th minute, but their herald wasn’t enough to take down the T1 turret with three DMO members coming down to defend.

The game slowed down a little bit, with Suning waiting to complete the Infinity Edge and Trinity Force for a power spike.

The 30th minute saw another battle break out, with DMO taking out Bin, SwordArt and SofM thanks to a great four-man knockup from GALA’s Varus that disrupted Suning’s coordination. DMO picked up a fifth dragon of the game shortly after and a 14-8 advantage, and second Baron moments later.

Everybody but Bin died in the top lane for Suning in the 32nd minute, opening up the final push that saw DMO win with an 18-9 kill lead and also ahead 13K gold.

Xiaopeng’s RekSai was a big difference maker, and he finished 7/0/7. Xiye ‘s Azir led the damage for the first game with 17.2K.

DMO: Natural (Malphite), Xiaopeng (Lee Sin), xiye (Azir), GALA (Varus), Mark (Tresh)

For a team that was trying to hold onto a tiny chance of making the playoffs, Suning made too many mistakes. They looked out of sorts in the team fights, and generally had no answers for DMO.

Suning grabbed the first kill of the game in the fifth minute, taking out Xiaopeng, and grabbed the first dragon also.

DMO answered in the sixth minute by taking out SofM and Angel at the cost of Mark, tying the kills at 2-2.

A 5v5 broke out at the herald, and Suning took out Xiaopeng, Gala and Mark thanks to a beautiful setup with a cataclysm and cyclone from Bin and SofM – helping them take a 5-2 lead.

DMO grabbed their own dragon in the 11th minute, but Suning had built up their gold lead to 3K at that point.

SwordArt found himself caught out in the 14th minute, but Suning answered by taking out GALA and Mark for the 7-3 lead.

A 5V5 broke out at the dragon, and Suning took out Xiaopeng, GALA and Mark for a 10-3 advantage. The difference in their performances during team fights compared to game 2 was like night and day.

Suning found themselves inside DMO’s base by the 32nd minute, and took out all the inhibitors.DMO managed to take out Bin and SofM at their base but the game was already over by then. Suning won 21-6 with more than a 12K gold lead.

Angel (5/1/9) and Huanfeng (7/2/10) had 23.7K and 23.8K damage. SofM also found himself involved a lot, finished 3/3/15.

Game 3:

Suning: Bin (Ornn), SofM (Sett), Angel (Zoe), huanfeng (Miss Fortune), SwordArt (Thresh)

DMO: Natural (Renekton), Xiaopeng (Elise), xiye (Syndra), GALA (Varus), Mark (Tahm Kench)

Game 2 was a great turnaround, but it remained to be seen if Suning could complete the comeback series win.

Xiaopeng found himself as the first casualty of the game in the second minute for a 1-0 lead and a quick 500 gold advantage for Suning.

Natural capitalized on a mistake from Bin and tied the kill score 1-1 in the top lane, and he killed Bin again for the second time by the fifth minute to give DMO a 2-1 advantage. DMO took the first dragon in the fifth minute too.

Suning opted not to challenge for the Baron in the eighth minute. Natural’s top lane dominance against Bin allowed Xiaopeng to more freely roam around. He did come in to help with a gank on Bin, giving Natural a third kill by the 10th minute. DMO took down the first tower of the game shortly after that.

DMO were forced back from the second dragon in a 5v5, and Xiaopeng and Gala went down to let DMO tie it back at 3-3 along with grabbing the cloud soul. XIaopeng and xiye weren’t able to get off any burst damage during that fight thanks to great control from Suning.

DMO re-took the 4-3 lead by taking out huanfeng in the bottom lane, but Natural’s top lane advantage was eroded a bit thanks to good play from Bin.

The final game of this series was more even midway through, but DMO won a big fight in the bottom lane in the 15th minute, taking out SofM, huangfeng, and SwordArt. A couple minutes later, xiye and SwordArt traded deaths for an 8-4 scoreline.

DMO took the next dragon along with another takedown of SofM for a 9-4 lead. DMO then took down Angel to push it to 10-4.

Xiye made a mistake and found himself downed in the 21st minute to let Suning peg back to 10-5. Even though DMO still had a 3K gold lead as well, their control of the game looked like it was starting to slip way. The two teams traded kills in the 23rd minute to make the score 11-6 but DMO picked up another infernal soul.

A third infernal soul in the 28th minute allowed DMO to pick up the 12% damage buff, and they used this to their advantage in a 5v5 in the mid lane in the 31st minute, taking out SwordArt and Bin before pushing back up toward the Baron with a 14-6 lead.. Bin missed his call of the forge god, and huanfeng also whiffed on a bullet time to that caused that painful defeat.

SofM and Natural traded deaths inside the Suning base. DMO allowed Suning to take the elder dragon in the 35th minute as they pushed towards base again, taking out a second inhibitor.

DMO wisely chose to avoid large team fights, and they grabbed the baron in the 38th minute. They couldn’t take advantage of the baron buff, though, failing to make any further advtanage

Suning won a good fight in thee 40th minute, taking out Mark. Xiye also went down to cut the lead to 15-9, also opening up the elder dragon for them to take down.

In the 43rd minute, Suning were the ones pushing toward the DMO base. Natural sacrificed himself to take out Suning’s third turret. Mark went down in the bottom lane again afterward to help Suning cut it to 15-11. The tradeoff was that they allowed DMO to get the baron buff.

DMO pushed Suning back to their base in the 46th minute, and huge trades came in the final fight of the game. DMO were able to sneak in enough damage onto the nexus to win the game, and if they had failed that play they were on the way to getting deleted inside the Suning base.

Suning’s Angel led the damage with 37.6K, and huangfeng also had 31.2K. No one from DMO broke 30K damage in the super long game.

That loss should be all she wrote for Suning’s playoff plans. DMO now has the same record as them and will also be praying for a miracle.
