It’s been an entertaining last few hours for NBA fans, even though there wasn’t any organized five on five basketball being played on the hardwood.

We saw the end of the NBA 2K Players Tournament, which was followed up by the first round of the NBA HORSE competition. Here are the results of the NBA 2K tournament, along with highlights.

Young bloods rule the virtual hardwood

I really, really wanted to see an all-Clippers final for the NBA 2K Players tournament. However, that dream was not meant to be as neither Montrezl Harrell or Patrick Beverley managed to make it out of the semifinals.

The penultimate round was pretty competitive. Harrell picked the Houston Rockets in the first game, while Devin Booker took Harrell’s LA Clippers. It did not end well for Harrell, who lost by 14 points against his real-life team.

The second game was won by three points, with Booker having to put together an epic comeback in the final 50 seconds of the game.

DeAndre Ayton and Patrick Beverley had a close game too, which also saw Ayton go behind in the fourth quarter before rallying to take the W. He was used the Boston Celtics against Patrick Beverley’s Brooklyn Nets.

Their second game saw Ayton pick his own team, the Phoenix Suns, and used them effectively against Beverley’s Denver Nuggets.

So, instead of an all-Clippers final, we instead got an all-Suns final instead. Booker got the best of his sophomore teammate in the first game by 10 points in a Houston Rockets vs. LA Lakers matchup. He then followed that up with a 14-point win using the Denver Nuggets against Ayton’s Milwaukee Bucks.
