AWAY: Detroit Pistons (7-2, 3-1 ROAD)

Projected starting five:

  • Cade Cunningham
  • Duncan Robinson
  • Ron Holland
  • Ausar Thompson
  • Jalen Duren

What a turnaround for the Pistons. Just two years ago, they were the punchline of the East, now they’re sitting on top of it. Winners of five straight, Detroit is rolling with an average victory margin of 13.6 points, looking every bit like a confident, balanced squad that’s finally figuring it all out.

Cade Cunningham has been spectacular, cementing himself as a clear All-Star and double-double machine. His mix of poise, scoring, and playmaking has elevated the entire team, while young big man Jalen Duren continues to blossom. Duren’s bruising rebounding is still his bread and butter, but he’s adding more polish to his offensive game with each passing night.

Even with Tobias Harris and Jaden Ivey still sidelined, the Pistons haven’t missed a beat. Duncan Robinson has stepped up as their perimeter sniper, Isaiah Stewart continues to bully the paint, and wings Caris LeVert and rookie Ron Holland are bringing that extra spark on both ends. This team’s got chemistry, confidence, and momentum: three things they’ve been missing for a long time.

HOME: Philadelphia 76ers (6-3, 3-1 HOME)

Projected starting five:

  • Tyrese Maxey
  • VJ Edgecombe
  • Kelly Oubre Jr.
  • Trendon Watford
  • Joel Embiid

The Sixers finally snapped out of their mini slump with a 130–120 win over the Raptors. It was a much-needed victory after dropping three of their previous four, and it showed flashes of the high-powered offense that carried them to a 4–0 start.

Tyrese Maxey continues to light it up, leading the entire league in scoring at 33.2 points per game. With Joel Embiid playing limited minutes, Maxey has embraced the alpha role with fearless energy and elite shot-making. Embiid, for his part, is still effective—putting up 19.7 points in just 23.3 minutes a night—proving that even a limited version of him remains a major problem for opposing defenses.

Kelly Oubre Jr. and Quentin Grimes have also stepped up as dependable scorers, while rookie VJ Edgecombe, though cooling off a bit after his hot start, continues to contribute in other ways. Don’t sleep on Trendon Watford too – he just notched a triple-double against Toronto, and his confidence is sky-high. The Sixers may not be firing on all cylinders yet, but the talent is clearly there, and this home matchup is a good test of their resilience.
