There will be at least one more game to be played between the San Miguel Beermen and the TNT Tropang 5G after Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser and company pulled off a big win in Game 5. Will San Miguel finish it all off in Game 6? Or, will the Tropang 5G force a Game 7?

San Miguel Beermen (3-2)
Projected Starting Five:
- Juami Tiongson
- Marcio Lassiter
- CJ Perez
- Rodney Brondial
- June Mar Fajardo
It was right there for the taking by the Beermen on a rainy Wednesday night, but they fell short of the goal in Game 5, as San Miguel suffered an 86-78 loss to the Tropang 5G. The Beermen were brilliantly contained by TNT, which held San Miguel to only 32.1 percent shooting from the floor. Even June Mar Fajardo struggled on the field, relatively speaking.
He scored 13 points on a 6-for-13 shooting from the floor while grabbing 13 rebounds. The thing is, having success against someone like Fajardo is tough to do on any given night, and doing it again is something that’s just a much more difficult goal to achieve. San Miguel had trouble finding offense in the fourth quarter, but if the Beermen can give Fajardo his touches and look for higher-quality possessions, they should be fine. Meanwhile, CJ Pereze could be due for a big game after a salty 1-for-9 performance in Game 5.
TNT Tropang 5G (2-3)
Projected Starting Five:
- Kim Aurin
- Jordan Heading
- Calvin Oftana
- Kelly Williams
- Brandon Ganuela-Rosser
The Tropang 5G are not going to surrender their hopes for a grand slam without giving San Miguel a tough fight. That’s been proven yet again in TNT’s gutsy victory on Wednesday. And Chot Reyes’ squad did it with an effort that was fueled by a mix of desperation and just solid basketball intelligence. As mentioned, the Tropang 5G forced San Miguel to have a horrible night offensively. The duo of Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser and Kelly Williams ruled the interior on that end of the floor.
Rosser, in particular, shone the most for TNT, as he finished with 18 points on an efficient 9-for-14 shooting from the field while swatting away five Beermen shots. He was a force on both ends of the floor, and showed that he can make a huge difference for TNT which will continue to ask for more from the former No. 1 overall pick. Calvin Oftana, Jordan Heading and RR Pogoy are the core on offense for TNT but one who could steal the show is Almond Vosotros, who dropped an 11-point bomb off the bench in Game 5, giving the Tropang 5G a big lift.
