This San Miguel Beermen and the Blackwater Bossing game is a must-watch basketball for a number of reasons. For one, it could define the playoff fate of Blackwater and whether the Beermen could stay in the hunt for the top spot in Group B. Will San Miguel sweep the Bossing in group play? Or, will Blackwater add more spice to the windup to the elimination phase with an upset win?

Blackwater Bossing (3-5)
Projected Starting Five:
- Kent Ilagan
- Sedrick Barefield
- George King Jr.
- Troy Rosario
- Justin Chua
Blackwater isn’t eliminated yet from playoff contention but a loss this Saturday would get it a ticket to Boracay. The Bossing just came off a 119-114 loss to the Phoenix Fuel Masters. On a two-game losing skid, the Bossing hope to find success against a powerhouse in the form of the Beermen.
That is going to be easier said than done, especially since the Bossing got demolished by San Miguel on Aug. 25, 128-108. However, Blackwater did not have an import and that game. This time around, the Bossting have the high-scoring George King, who just had 32 points against Phoenix. Sedrick Barefield is also in a groove, having just scored 30 points in the loss to the Fuel Masters. Also don’t count out Troy Rosario. He had 25 points and six rebounds in the first meeting with San Miguel and stuffed the stat sheets with 10 points, eight boards, and five assists in Blackwater’s last game.
San Miguel Beermen (6-3)
Projected Starting Five:
- CJ Perez
- Jaymar Perez
- Jordan Adams (Questionable)
- Marcio Lassiter
- June Mar Fajardo
There is a major concern for the Bremen heading into the rematch against Blackwater. San Miguel could potentially be without import Jordan Adams this Saturday due to a lower-body issue. Adams left the court in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters with a hamstring problem and did not return.
San Miguel, which ultimately lost to the Elasto Painters, 122-112, could end up being import-less against Blackwater, but that’s a predicament the Beermen can afford, considering that they have already clinched a playoff berth. Plus, there is still plenty of talent to go around for San Miguel, with eight-time PBA MVP Junemar Fajardo leading the charge, of course. And if Adams turned out to be just fine, that would be an unfortunate development for Blackwater, which Adams torched for 50 points last August. The Beermen are 4-0 in their last four meetings with Blackwater.
