The Los Angeles Clippers have not lost three games in a row since mid-November. Will they keep that it that way this Saturday, when they take on the upset-seeking Washington Wizards on the second day of the month of Cinderellas? Or, will the Clippers hand Washington its 14th loss in a row?

Away: Washington Wizards (9-50/6-25 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Tyus Jones
  • Landry Shamet
  • Deni Avdija
  • Kyle Kuzma
  • Marvin Bagley III

Are the Wizards the new Detroit Pistons? Maybe. Either way, Washington is still winless since the end of January, as the Wizards have lost all of their last 13 games. They nearly snapped their skid on Friday but ended up short in a 134-131 overtime loss in Tinseltown to the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, they fared well enough to cover the double-digit spread as underdogs against the Lakers, which means the Wizards have gone 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 outings. Beating the Clippers is another tall order for Washington, but the Wizards have another encouraging reason for bettors to take a chance on their spread; Washington is 19-10-2 in road games this season. They are undoubtedly a bad team, but not all that horrible in terms of spread coverage.

Home: Los Angeles Clippers (37-20/20-8 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • James Harden
  • Terance Mann
  • Amir Coffey
  • Kawhi Leonard
  • Daniel Theis

The Clippers have a bad taste in their mouth to get rid of after melting down and losing to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday at home, 116-112. The Clippers had a 21-point lead in that game but they squandered it amid a torrid, one-man show by the four-time league MVP.

The good news for the Clippers is that even though both Paul George and Ivica Zubac are questionable for Saturday’s game, they will only be up against the Wizards. Washington is terrible on both ends of the court, especially on defense. They are last in the league with 124.4 points allowed per game and second worst overall with 119.4 points allowed per 100 possessions. Don’t be surprised if the Clippers blow out Washington and cover the spread again just like they did in their 125-109 win in DC on Feb. 1.

PREDICTIONS:

Spread: The Clippers (-14.5) cover the spread.

Over/Under: The total (240.0) hits the Over.
