Away: Toronto Raptors (2-7 /0-4 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Immanuel Quickley (Quickley)
- Gradey Dick
- Ochai Agbaji
- RJ Barrett
- Jakob Poeltl
The Raptors enter Sunday’s game on the heels of back-t0-back losses. They lost to the Denver Nuggets last Tuesday, 122-119, before coming up short against the Sacramento Kings, 122-107, on Thursday. But with a full day of rest between the Kings game and the meeting with the Clippers, the Raptors will have fresher legs against LA, which played on Saturday. Toronto could also get a big boost if Immanuel Quikley returns to action.
Quickley has not played since Toronto’s season-opening 136-106 loss at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 24. One thing about Toronto is it can light up the scoreboard. On the season, the Raptors are sixth in the league with 118.9 points per game, thanks in large part to their unselfishness. They are leading the NBA with 30.6 assists per contest and second with 93.9 field goal attempts per contest.
Home: Los Angeles Clippers (5-4/2-4 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- James Harden
- Norman Powell
- Terance Mann
- Derrick Jones Jr.
- Ivica Zubac
The Clippers are gaining steam. They are seemingly starting to figure out life without Paul George and with an injured Kawhi Leonard. Los Angeles has gone undefeated in three games, including Saturday’s 107-98 victory on the road versus the Kings. With George no longer around and Leonard sidelined, James Harden is left as the Clippers’ only available superstar at the moment, but he’s also getting tremendous help from Norman Powell. Harden is averaging 20.9 points, 9.2 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game, though, he is shooting only 36.9 percent from the field.
Powell, on the other hand, paces the Clippers with 25.1 points on 51.6 percent shooting from the floor. Another efficient player for LA is big man Ivica Zubac, who is producing 16.7 points and 12.8 rebounds per contest. While the Clippers are only 23rd in the NBA with 108.9 points per outing, it can surpass that average this Sunday against the Clippers’ faulty defense that is allowing 124.7 points per game – the worst in the league.
