Away: San Antonio Spurs (3-2)

Projected Starting Five:

  • De’Aaron Fox
  • Stephon Castle
  • Devin Vassell
  • Julian Champagnie
  • Victor Wembanyama

The Spurs are going in for the kill this Saturday following a 126-97 demolition of Minnesota on the road in Game 5 on Wednesday.

Victor Wembanyama escaped suspension for his flagrant 2 foul in Game 4 and blasted the Wolves for 27 points on 9/16 shooting with 17 rebounds, five assists and three blocks.

There is only so much Minnesota can do in trying to slow Wemby down, and that task becomes even tougher with San Antonio’s supporting cast stepping up of late.

In Game 5, Keldon Johnson came off the bench and fired 21 points, while Dylan Harper provided 12 points in a reserve role.

Meanwhile, San Antonio’s defense held the Timberwolves to just 39% shooting in Game 5. So far in the series, the Spurs are limiting Minnesota to only 41.4 FG%.

The Spurs have covered the spread in seven of their last 10 road games.

Home: Minnesota Timberwolves (2-3)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Mike Conley
  • Anthony Edwards
  • Jaden McDaniels
  • Julius Randle
  • Rudy Gobert

Down to their last out, so to speak, in the series, the Timberwolves have at least one thing in their favor in Game 6, as they play at home for potentially the final time this season.

All eyes will definitely be on Edwards, the beating heart of Minnesota. Coming off a subpar performance in Game 5, the former Georgia Bulldogs star will look to recover, but he’ll need help to get some good looks on offense.

That is a direct call as well for Julius Randle, who’s been a missing man for Minnesota in the series. After scoring 21 points in Game 1, Randle has averaged just 13.3 points on a brutal 18/51 shooting from the field across four games. Game 6 should be a perfect time for Randle to wake up.

The Timberwolves are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as the home team.
