Victor Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic face-off in what should be an entertaining face-off between towering big men.

Catch the game tomorrow at 10:00 AM, Manila time.

AWAY: San Antonio Spurs (17-16, 5-9 AWAY)

Projected starting five:

  • Chris Paul
  • Julian Champagnie
  • Stephon Castle
  • Harrison Barnes
  • Victor Wembanyama

The Spurs are still progressing slowly, but at the very least, they have rhythm to work with for tomorrow. They are coming off a dominant, 122-86 win over the LA Clippers, where they collectively dished out 37 assists and held the Clipps to just 34.5% shooting.

Such is a good prequel for battling the mighty Nuggets, who they lost to three out of four times last season, twice via double-digits. It should be a distant memory, though, especially since Victor Wembanya is a year older and they now have future Hall-of-Famer Chris Paul (9.4 PPG, 8.3 APG) running the point, not to mention other improved weapons and rising newcomer Stephon Castle.

The Wemby-Paul connection will be the main focus, although the young big man is about to be challenged heavily by Jokic and the Nuggets frontcourt. But, of course, being the “unicorn” that he is, he’ll be presenting quite the challenge too. He’s netting 25.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and a league-leading 3.9 blocks on the season.

Devin Vassell (15.3 PPG), Keldon Johnson (12.1 PPG), and Julian Champagnie (12.1 PPG) will be the second-tier guys that will aid Wemby on offense. Jeremy Sochan is still injured and isn’t expected to play.

HOME: Denver Nuggets (19-13, 9-5 HOME)

Projected starting five:

  • Jamal Murray
  • Christian Braun
  • Michael Porter Jr.
  • Aaron Gordon
  • Nikola Jokic

The Nuggets enter tomorrow’s contest on a three-game winning streak. They scored 130-plus points in each victory and won by an average of 14.3 points.

Though seemingly impossible at this point, Nikola Jokic is appearing to have raised his game even further. He has been destroying the stat sheet this season, averaging over 30 points and just 0.3 shy of a triple-double while on a superb 65.1 true shooting percentage, including an insane 49.2% clip from beyond the arc on 4.9 attempts. Expect him to continue lording over opponents, and the Spurs shouldn’t be an exception.

Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., Russell Westbrook, and Aaron Gordon are there to back him up or pick-up the slack if necessary. All have had great stretches this season, even the 36-year-old Westbrook, who has had chemistry issues over the past few seasons. The 2017 NBA MVP is posting 12.6 points, 6.6 dimes, and 1.7 assists this season, and just had a 16-10-10 triple-double days ago.
