The New York Knicks can win their regular-season series against the Philadelphia 76ers outright with a win at home this Monday. Will the Knicks accomplish that mission? Or, will the 76ers make noise in the Big Apple and steal a win there?

Away: Philadelphia 76ers (35-28,/16-13 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Kyle Lowry
  • Kelly Oubre Jr.
  • Buddy Hield
  • Tobias Harris
  • Paul Reed

The Sixers are far from their 100% percent form and it’s clearly showing of late. On a three-game skid following a 103-95 home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday, Philadelphia will look to avoid another defeat this Monday when they go up against the Knicks. The Sixers are missing stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, leaving a thinned-out Sixers lineup against the Pels.

That could be the case again this Monday, with Maxey still in concussion protocol and Embiid not expected to be back from injury anytime soon. However, the Sixers could be catching the Knicks at just the right time, with New York also missing key pieces due to injuries. Plus, it seems like the Sixers love playing in the Big Apple. They are 8-2 straight-up in their last 10 games there with a 4-5-1 record against the spread over the same span.

Home: New York Knicks (37-26/21-12 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jalen Brunson
  • Donte DiVincenzo
  • Josh Hart
  • Precious Achiuwa
  • Isaiah Hartenstein

The Knicks welcomed Jalen Brunson back from his absence due to an injury with a 98-74 win at home over the Orlando Magic on Saturday. The Knicks were coming off a 116-100 loss to Atlanta last Wednesday entering the Magic game, but they’re all back to their winning ways. Brunson scored 26 points on 11/19 shooting from the field versus the Magic, with four 3-pointers.

Even though they are missing the likes of OG Anunoby and Julius Randle, not to mention Mitchell Robinson, the Knicks are capable of taking down the Sixers. They just did that without Anunoby and Randle and with Maxey playing for Philly in a 110-76 road win over the Sixers back in February. Brunson scored 21 points in that game, while Bogdan Bogdanovic had 22 points with perfect 6/6 shooting from deep. The Knicks, second in the league in scoring defense (109.3 PPG) have held their last three opponents to just 43.5 FG% and 32.7 3FG%.

PREDICTIONS:

Over/Under: The total (210.5) hits the Under.

Spread: The 76ers (+6.5) cover the spread.
