The Philadelphia 76ers are finally back home after a disastrous road trip. Tomorrow still wouldn’t be walk in the park, though, as the upstart Memphis Grizzlies are sure to provide a good challenge.

HOME TEAM: Philadelphia 76ers (31-20, 22-2 at home)

The Sixers, who seem allergic with away games, blanked in their four-game road trip, losing all by 10, 19, 31, and 11 points. The defense also allowed a 30-plus point scorer in each of those defeats.

In Friday’s 112-101 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, big men Joel Embiid and Al Horford made their best James Harden impression by combining to shoot a dreadful 11-for-43 from the floor. Ben Simmons, meanwhile, flirted with a triple double (11 pts, 14 rebs, 9 asst), but was suddenly gun shy and only attempted six shots.

Tobias Harris led Philly in scoring with 25 points (5-for-6 from three) after a pair of duds this week. The Sixers will be hoping he maintains his hot hand and rub it off All-Stars Embiid and Simmons.

ROAD TEAM: Memphis Grizzlies (26-25, 11-12 on the road)

The Grizzlies continued their resurgence on Thursday with a 121-107 road win over the Dallas Mavericks. By winning 13 of their last 16 games, they are now above the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Two of the team’s biggest pieces guided the victory, with Ja Morant scoring 21 on 10-for-12 shooting and Jaren Jackson Jr. adding 19 points, including four three-pointers. The bench mob had plenty of solid contributions as well, namely Brandon Clarke, who had 18, and Tyus Jones, who was a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor for a career-high 19 points in only 18 minutes of play.

All the momentum should be carried over nicely tomorrow. They need it badly considering how good the Sixers are at home.

PREDICTION:

Morant and the fastbreak-loving Grizzlies (fifth in pace and fastbreak points) will try to outrun the Sixers, who are on the back half of a back-to-back. They are in good rhythm too and has scored over 120 points in three of their last four games.

Having said that, though, the Sixers are the best home team in the league for a reason. I expect them to showcase a resilient effort and eventually get a 113-108 win.
