Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (5-2)
Projected starting five:
- Aaron Fuller
- Caelan Tiongson
- Felix Lemetti
- Beau Belga
- Santi Santillan
Rain or Shine has now lost two of its three games after starting out 4-0. The team was dominated by the San Miguel Beermen this past Friday, 124-102, in what was their worst defensive performance of the conference.
Still, the Elasto Painters will be coming with confidence. They dusted off NLEX in their meeting last August 28th, 124-105, courtesy of solid, two-way performances. Import Aaron Fuller had a monstrous 21 points, 20 rebounds, and three steals, Jhonard Clarito had game-highs 24 points and five steals on a spotless 9-of-9 shooting, while Gian Mamuyac was sensational with 22 points, six assists, and three steals.
As always, thriving rookies Caelan Tiongson and Felix Lemetti should be eyed as well. Both have been flexing their game and are due for another commendable performance.
NLEX Road Warriors (3-4)
Projected starting five:
- Robert Bolick
- Anthony Semerad
- Robbie Herndon
- Myke Henry
- Michael Miranda
The Road Warriors are likewise struggling. They have dropped three-straight after starting out the season 3-1. We are at the halfway point of the Governor’s Cup, and the guys have to recover fast.
High-scoring, three-point bombing Robert Bolick remains at the forefront of the offense. He’s one of the best scorers and shooters in the league, and is dangerous to take over at any given day. He’s also driven to avenge his dud night in the loss to ROS three weeks ago, where he shot just 7-of-19 for 22 points. Import Myke Henry, who’s been hot-and-cold as of late, will be alongside Bolick in powering the Road Warriors’ attack. He doesn’t drop mindblowing numbers, but he plays his role and allows his feature guard to do much of the scoring.
Michael Miranda, Dominic Fajardo, Baser Amer, Enoch Valdez, and Richie Rodger, meanwhile, lead the secondary weapons. Miranda and Valdez had 18 and 15 points during Wednesday’s loss to SMB, respectively, so they may have some momentum.
