Away: Orlando Magic (38-33, 16-17 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Jevon Carter
- Tristan da Silva
- Desmond Bane
- Paolo Banchero
- Wendell Carter Jr.
It is not getting better for the Orlando Magic. Just when it looked like they were getting a lifeline to snap a losing skid as they faced off against the tanking Indiana Pacers at home on Tuesday, the Magic got embarrassed instead in a 128-126 loss.
Orlando has now lost five games in a row, and its last two losses were by just a combined margin of three points. Paolo Banchero poured in 39 points against Indiana, but the Magic’s porous defense ultimately wasted his big night, as the Pacers shot 55% from the field and went 16/35 from deep.
If the Magic are to break their losing skid this Wednesday, they will have to do so without Jalen Suggs and Anthony Black again. The two will miss the Cavs game due to illness and abdominal strain, respectively. Orland is also still missing Franz Wager (ankle).
The Magic are 5-5 against the spread in their last 10 meetings with Cleveland.
Home: Cleveland Cavaliers (44-27, 22-13 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- James Harden
- Donovan Mitchell
- Sam Merrill
- Dean Wade
- Evan Mobley
Things are brighter for the Cavaliers, who are on a three-game winning streak following a 111-106 takedown of the New Orleans Pelicans on the road on Sunday. They will also have a decided advantage in rest for this matchup against Orlando, as the Cavs will enter the contest on two full days of rest.
Donovan Mitchell had 27 points against the Pels, while James Harden finished with 20 points despite being held scoreless in the first half. Cleveland will look to sustain its momentum minus big man Jarrett Allen again, as the former Texas Longhorns star continues to nurse a knee issue.
Allen has missed the last eight Cavs games, though Cleveland has managed to stay afloat amid his absence, going 5-3 straight up over that stretch.
The Cavaliers are 6-3-1 against the spread in their last 10 games at home.
