The New York Knicks and the Toronto Raptors will go at it this Wednesday in an NBA Cup quarterfinals matchup at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Apart from a spot in the next round of the in-season tournament, the Knicks will also look to stretch their head-to-head winning streak against Toronto to 10 games. Away: New York Knicks (16-7, 3-6 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jalen Brunson
  • Josh Hart
  • Mikal Bridges
  • OG Anunoby
  •  Karl-Anthony Towns (Questionable)

The Knicks are on a three-game winning streak entering this matchup against an Atlantic Division rival. In their most recent outing, Jalen Brunson and company came up with a 106-100 victory at Madison Square Garden over the Orlando Magic to finish a three-game homestand undefeated.

What makes New York hard to take down is that it can beat teams on either side of the floor. On the season, the Knicks are third in the league overall with 121.7 points per 100 possessions and above half of the NBA with a 121.7 defensive rating. The Knicks are great at denying opponents more opportunities on offense, thanks in large part to their rebounding. So far in the campaign, New York is second overall with a 76.7 percent defensive rate and fourth with just 86.0 field goal attempts allowed per contest. When they defeated Toronto, 116-94, at home on Dec. 1, the Knicks won the rebounding battle by a huge margin (+21) and outshot the Raps from the field (96-88).

Karl-Anthony Towns is listed as questionable for the Toronto game after missing the meeting with Orlando because of a calf issue.

Home: Toronto Raptors (15-10, 8-5 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Immanuel Quickley
  • Ja’KobeWalter
  • Brandon Ingram
  • Scottie Barnes
  • Jakob Poeltl

The Raptors have been one of the best teams in the East, as they are fourth in the conference standings thus far. However, things have not been so great of late for Toronto, which has lost its last three games, including Monday’s 121-113 defeat at the hands of the Boston Celtics. Moreover, the Raptors have won just once in their last six outings. They have suffered a dip in form both on offense and defense.

On the season, Toronto has a 115.3 offensive rating and 112.8 defensive rating, but over its last six games, the team has posted just a 108.8 offensive rating and 119.0 defensive rating. Still, the Raptors have the talent to make any opponent sweat. Even though they are still missing RJ Barrett because of a knee injury, the Raptors have the likes of Brandon Ingram, Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley to lead the charge.

Ingram, who is pacing Toronto with 21.2 points pe game, will look to atone for his 14-point (4-11 FG) performance in the first meeting with the Knicks.
