Away: New York Knicks (40-23, 16-14 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Jalen Brunson
- Josh Hart (Questionable)
- Mikal Bridges
- OG Anunoby
- Karl-Anthony Towns
The Knicks have lost some steam after getting tripped up by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday at home, snapping New York’s three-game winning streak. But there’s no shame in losing to the reigning NBA champions, especially since a few favorable bounces could have given the Knicks there instead of a 103-100 loss. They now turn their focus to facing Denver again.
New York defeated the Nuggets in a marathon double-overtime game in early February at MSG, 134-127, with Jalen Brunson erupting for 42 points. Josh Hart didn’t see action in that game, and he could be out again in the rematch, as he is questionable at the moment with a back issue.
With a rest advantage over the Nuggets, New York may look to push the pace early this Saturday. That said, the Knicks are just 24th in the league in pace.
The Knicks are 4-3 against the spread in their last seven games in Mile High City. They are also 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games overall.
Home: Denver Nuggets (39-24, 17-12 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- Jamal Murray
- Christian Braun
- Aaron Gordon (DTD)
- Cameron Johnson (DTD)
- Nikola Jokic
The Nuggets will play the second leg of a back-to-back this Saturday after beating the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Friday, 120-113. The 1-2 combo of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray made big flexes at the Lakers, as they each scored 28 points. Jokic added 13 assists and 12 rebounds, though he committed nine turnovers.
Denver had a total of 18 turnovers against the Lakers, who converted them into 26 points. Yet, Denver came away with a win. That the Nuggets won a game against a quality opponent despite repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot speaks to the team’s strength. Denver could also be getting back Aaron Gordon from a 16-game absence, as he’s reportedly targeting this Knicks game for his return.
The Nuggets have covered the spread in six of their last 10 home games against New York.
